Gobbi
Are the Pro Bowl jerseys going to be the same as last year?
FiddySicks
No they'll be a bit different this year. I haven't seen them yet, but we had to put in an order on them a few weeks ago and the description I got was a LOT more orange and yellow. They sound even more awful than they were last year. Gothamite
That's why I hate minor tweaks on principle. Shame they couldn't also sneak the old Cardinals logo in there somewhere as well. Gothamite
Can't agree with you there, cap. This tweak, like the Cardinals tweak, was an undeniable improvement to my eye. This tweak, like the Cardinals tweak, was an undeniable improvement to my eye. I just don't like tweaks on principle.I think it was an upgrade, but only because the old logo was wasn't good. Appeared really flat and the new one at least fixed that.My biggest gripe with the new one, and Goth - you and I have discussed differing viewpoints on this before, is that their guidelines say to never use a keyline no matter the background it's placed on. I think it makes it look like bush.
sportstar1212
I too hate how parts of the logo get lost on black or blue backgrounds. I think a silver keyline for the logo would be a good idea. I love the way the logo currently looks on the helmets, and a silver keyline you obviously wouldn't see on a silver helmet.
BBTV
Cardinals "tweak" wan an undeniable upgrade - one on the most universally praised tweaks in board history. IMO, panthers is a push, and I'm leaning on slight downgrade. Mostly due to the key line thing "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." Gothamite
And again I must respectfully beg to differ. I think the lack of white keyline is one of its best features. The shape isn't lost at all against the dark background, and the white is pointless and ugly. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. Mostly due to the key line thingYeah, my sentiments exactly. When the Cardinals' current logo came out my first thought was "why wasn't this done years ago?" It was just the concept of the original improved in every imaginable way. I can't say that about the Panthers' new logo. And again I must respectfully beg to differ. I think the lack of white keyline is one of its best features. The shape isn't lost at all against the dark background, and the white is pointless and ugly. The shape isn't lost, and I do agree that unnecessary outlines should be avoided. An outline just doesn't strike me as unnecessary when it's the only think keeping key elements of a logo from blending into the background. BBTV
Can you post an example of a successful logo that doesn't have some kind of key line? I'm not saying there aren't any, just can't think of one off top of my head. At first, they used to put a white keyline around it on dark backgrounds:Then soon realized that was totally unnecessary. Looks so much better without, even though the blue border blends into the background. The keyline adds nothing but clutter, and was wisely eliminated. That's amateurish, adding detail for its own sake. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Sport
I like it better with the white outline. Clearly there's no right answer and this is one of those things completely dependent on opinion.
Still MIGHTY
That's why I hate minor tweaks on principle.Shame they couldn't also sneak the old Cardinals logo in there somewhere as well. The Orange County Register still uses the old Cards logo in its NFL coverage. As well as the old Lions and Falcons logos. (But strangely, they've updated the Jags and Panthers.) Now that I work in the office, I keep meaning to bring this up to somebody. There's not a situation where multiple colors are touching he background.
