Well I guess since the season is officially underway we need a thread.

The Red Sox defeated the A's in a 10 inning game in Tokyo this morning. Yes, I did get up at 6 to watch it. There is another game same time tomorrow.

So let the discussion begin...

Well, game 2 proved different. Jon Lester struggled and the A's win, 5-1.

Rich Harden looked absolutely fantastic today. The Sox were lucky to get one off him....very lucky. Harden was just filthy.

Indeed. Take pictures, and I'm guessing that it's gonna be a really electric atmosphere in that ballpark tonight.

I also wanna see what all the fuss about the cherry blossoms is about.

OPENING DAY! The best sports day of the year! Finally. Can't wait to see the Nats new park. Enjoy the experience Donjunagoaty.

Go anyone who is playing the Red Sox.

As if they made any effort before this but, ESPN is no longer hiding their love of all things Red Sox. Has anyone noticed that ESPN's new baseball promos feature a background that is a dead ringer for The Green Monster?

You're crazy - the background is that of a generic old-school hand-operated scoreboard. If anything, it's closer to either Wrigley Field or the pre-renovation Yankee Stadium...not the Monster.

LOL! I think I'm hearing boos towards President Bush. That's classic!!

Thank you, National fans. You made Opening Night great... BTW, that ballpark is nice. That High Def scoreboard is nothing short of pure beauty.

I don't know why everyone's so suprised that Bush got booed. His disapproval rating in the 70s, and D.C.'s political leanings are slightly right of Cuba. If I were the Lerners, I would have gotten Obama. Then they'd have a three minute ovation.

Obama is not the President and hopefully never will be, but its a Tradition 48 times the sitting President has thrown out the first pitch on Opening Day in Washington.
