NIKE NFL Uniforms

I think the Chiefs' cleats are interesting. That yellow looks very dark and the white looks very grey. Surely that's just a lighting issue...right? RIGHT? RIGHT?!?!

I love the Chiefs logo, colors, and uniforms. Maybe they opted for the grey on the shoes only because it is a neutral color.

LOVE that green and especially when it is paired with navy.

The updated Panthers logo looks a tad better then the previous one.

I think they've gone from the 25th best logo in the NFL to somewhere around 22.

Pretty much.

News for you all: I've seen changes for two NFL teams so far. I won't specify which two, but suffice it to say that one NFC club has been heavily influenced by Nike Pro Combat.

Gotta be the Panthers.

Simplified modern logo (upgrade)

Clean modern wordmark (downgrade)

It's gonna make the Oregon mix-n-match effect a lot easier in a year or two.

Just my opinion. I think the old wordmark was one of the most unique in the NFL and was instantly recognizable. This new one seems very generic to me, and though it looks okay, diminishes the Panthers brand somewhat.

Those Vikings cleats intrigue me. It's not so much the black that throws me, but the particular shade of gold that's being used. It's probably just a bad photoshop rendering, or the lighting, but it kind of looks more like metallic gold to me.

^ Agreed. I always liked the way their old script looked in the end zone. This doesn't really look that unique to me.

Lukas addresses the people who think that Phil Knight is now deciding how NFL teams will look: "Everyone calm the f*** down already ? it?s just a new outfitter, not a whole new era, even if the Swooshkateers would like you to believe otherwise."

And he address the "Falcons Gold": "Incidentally, there?s been some chatter that the Falcons gloves show a gold outline on the logo and that the Seahawks gloves show slightly different team colors. But they don?t ? it?s just the lighting. Trust me."

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

We can chalk this one up to Paul being wrong about the Seahawks then. As Showtime already stated, they did switch the bottom portion of the logo to silver (or whatever they will be calling it) and on my way to work today, 106.1 Kiss also stated the logo has changed for the 2012 season with the same mention of the color swap.

Maybe the NFL has finally relaxed their ridiculous cleat rule?

Yes, it would be much better if they looked like the ridiculously lame NBA instead.

To each his own.

Maybe a good compromise would be to change the rule from black or white only to team color cleats only (which could include black or white cleats with team color accents, while excluding those ugly neon UA cleats for example).

over the last several years we've seen significant portion of players wear team colored cleats or the opposite of the team's official black/white designation...obviously the players don't mind paying the fines and the league isn't taking much action to stop it so in my opinion this is implied acceptance on the league's part...I'm pretty sure the rule has only been in place since the late 80's or early 90's so they might as well repeal it...the nba did it and the world did not come to an end.

List of "Reebok nightmares" Nike Football should address (in order):

- Minnesota Vikings

- Cincinnati Bengals

- Arizona Cardinals

- Seattle Seahawks

- Jacksonville Jaguars

Following those, Nike should try their hand at these:

- Tennessee Titans

- Dallas Cowboys

- Baltimore Ravens

- New York Jets

- Kansas City Chiefs

I think they could really work wonders on some of those teams, desperate for a sharp/clean/fresh image.

I'm still unconvinced. That glove image was pretty hard to read one way or the other, and radio guys? Completely useless scources of information... especially about uniforms.

Look, I'd love it if the Seahawks got rid of the sad blue scuba suits, but I'm not seeing any real proof. Just about the same as the "gold" Falcon nonsense.

I'll believe it when it happens, I guess.

Definitely going to gray & navy and getting rid of that odd shade of blue. Also going to have more green involved.

But I'm sure you're not going to believe it so what's the use

Completely understandable, oldschoolvikings. But actually living up here means I get to hear a lot more local talk (yes, it's just talk, even if it's radio), but more and more I keep hearing about a silver (actually a DARK silver) being used in 2012. I guess we will all see soon, but this Showtime guy also seems to know.

I really hope this wasn't a sneak peak during the Pro Bowl though. Whatever he's wearing doesn't look good at all and the blue seems off.

^^^ That better be a practice jersey and nothing else.

^^ That's some really bad editing right there. Look closely-- the green screen he was in front of matched the color stripe, and when they keyed out the green, it took the stripe with it. You can see the NFC logo through his collar... That's rough. So really, the blue is off because it's the NFC blue. Not sure about the rest of the uniform, though.

I hope so. That thing is awful. The blue looked extremely off and the silver/grey/whatever it is being called is what has me the most concerned.
