Not going to lie, I'm a little disappointed with the Reign's new brand. They've had a great logo set and brand for the last 7 years and none of it carried over. At least with the Monarchs (prior to last year) had an identity which was similar to the Kings, but it was different. I would have rather they used the throwback logo from a few years back that was primarily gray with the O logo.

EDIT: Ok the logo is starting to grow on me but everything still feels like it's missing something.

And the Flames have announced that they will keep the Thunder name for their ECHL team. So they will basically move the ECHL Stockton Thunder to Glen Falls, NY and call them the Adirondack Thunder. Which means they will probably move the Adirondack Flames to Stockton, CA and call them the Stockton Flames of the AHL. How lame! :sleepy: Although it does look like they are listening for new names with this contest: http://www.stocktonthunder.com/ahlname/

Calgary is religiously opposed to spending money on their minor league teams so neither branding move should be surprising.

Strange that the ECHL is allowing Adirondack's team to stay the Thunder...I'd think that now that they have the Wichita Thunder, they'd take any opportunity they'd get to have only one team with the name.

Talk about delusional with the final line in the above article:

I've never been a fan of that particular Kings logo, so this is a little sad for me. The least they could've done is something similar to what TheLAKnight said and use the old Reign logo in place of the crown. And I will give them credit for using the black and white look, it does improve the look some. As for the new Thunder logo, let's go with this. It's a shame they're not using the Flames name, but the recolor on the logo does look better. I dig the red beard a lot more than I should. Here's hoping the other teams can do even better, and I'd imagine San Diego will be next to announce the inevitable return of the Gulls (but with possibly a new logo or colors) on the 22nd of February.

Bad word choice there. Though this does raise a question: what happens if one of the teams (odds are it'll be Stockton) has to move due to stadium issues? Where would they go?

Well, considering that the team is likely to be named the Grizzlies, how about Utah? ;)

The negative space gull between the L and S is absolutely delightful. Well done.

And here's me thinking that was a result of poor font alignment. Good eye!

Interesting that they decided on keeping blue instead of using the Ducks gold. Keeps 'em different enough I guess. Hopefully they'll also be different enough to the inevitably blue and orange OilerCondors.
