So, Bryant went #2 in that draft, and the dude who went above him was Stanford pitcher Mark Appel. I wondered what happened to him so I just looked it up. Apparently, he just got called up to the bigs for the first time at age 30 just yesterday! https://www.axios.com/2022/06/27/mark-appel-phillies-mlb 2 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) TBGKon
I believe Appel stepped away from baseball for a few years and made a comeback this year.

Partycrasher
last night, Chandler Redmond of the AA Springfield Cardinals became the second player in the history of professional baseball to hit for a home run cycle (solo, 2-run, 3-run, and grand slam in one game). the only other documented HR cycle on record was by Tyrone Hornes of the 1998 Arkansas Travelers. who were also a AA affiliate of the Cardinals.

Partycrasher
only three of the surviving North American pro sports franchises that were active at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II - the Cleveland Indians/Guardians, Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, and Rochester/Cincinnati/Kansas City-Omaha/Kansas City/Sacramento Royals/Kings - failed to win a single championship during her entire reign. all three, of course, came agonizingly close - the Indians lost two World Series Game 7s in extra innings (and blew a 3-1 lead in the 2007 ALCS), the Cardinals held a lead in Super Bowl XLIII with less than a minute left, and the Kings most likely would've won the 2002 Finals in a just world.
chrispw12
I was thinking of some match ups in the NFL that haven't happened all that often and found that the Raiders have only faced the Jaguars in Jacksonville three times and have actually despite being in the opposite conference faced their expansion cousins the Panthers in Carolina four times. Sykotyk
The Browns were the first team to lose after leading by 13 or more points in the final two minutes of a game since 2001. Last time a team did it? Also the Browns. I hate my team sometimes.

DCarp1231
Aaron Rodgers TD pass to Mercedes Lewis against the Giants was the 502nd of his career. It was also the only time he’s thrown a touchdown pass to a former 1st round draft pick.
