The_Admiral
I think people have had nuanced opinions, which is what they should be getting here instead of "meh." We shouldn't congregate here just to say something is okay. It's a strong rendering marred by the forcing of an Army aesthetic that doesn't lend itself to the team or its white-collar suburban location. The new identity is likely to be better in some ways and worse in others. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
chcarlson23
Does anyone know what kind of font is used in the Florida Panthers jersey leak? I can't seem to find it... Or even something close. T-ROY
The thing I've seen being said again and again about the new Panthers logo is how it looks too much like a soccer logo therefore it's bad. It doesn't make sense. It's still a good logo with a few minor kinks, but yea it probably should be left as a shoulder logo. IMO they should have went a kind of Predators route with a panther head in the style of the leaked logo, but people saying it's a bad logo are just mad that their kids are moving out. I'm mainly just worried about the jerseys. I really hope they added some blue into the striping. As for the Sharks, yes their post-EDGE jerseys were too busy, but they were still pretty sharp. The chest numbers and shoulder logos were extremely unnecessary and they could have should some weight solely on those. I just couldn't see those jerseys lasting that long in the first place. They were just a stage. Their current set isn't as bad as everyone says they are, same with Arizona. Both are pretty good from what kind of future designs we have been seeing as of late. Yea, they should probably add a hem stripe, but it's not necessary. The thing I don't like about their jerseys are the numbers. Add an orange border and they will be fixed. Morgan33
Just put the current logos on the heritage set. Change the orange triangle, on the primary to silver, and use the updated fin on the shoulders. Unpopular opinion but I would go as far as to call the current set the worst in Sharks history. The lack of hem stripes makes them look like practice uniforms. nash61
I agree that the new Panthers logo makes a better shoulder patch/alternate jersey logo. Was this too hard, Florida? IMO, every set they wore with the old logo was MILES better than anything they've had with the current logo, but the new home (teal) set is MUCH better than the last set. LAWeaver
I removed the stick because it was originally for my football crossover series, so I had to sacrifice it. I never liked the thinner lines of either the old or new logo, but I much prefer the current logo over the original. I love teal and orange as a color scheme because it's so unique. I'm free after today so I'll see what I can do about that stick. @loganaweaver - Twitter / @loganaweaver - Instagram / Nike Vapor Untouchable Football Template / Logan's Logos
Sport
I like the old Sharks logo because it has a charm the new one lacks and it doesn't try to get overly fussy with the triangle or the bend of the stick. Could it be simplified? Sure, but if it's complexity that's your issue well then the 2007 logo is also pretty busy if not moreso. That's not even mentioning that the old logo also had a little brother in the form of the circular fin shoulder patch which is one of the best shoulder patches to ever live on an NHL sweater. Why they've moved away from that in favor anything else is a shame. Not to say what they wear now is good, but I like what they wear now better than the first Edge uniform. Here's why: - they went too far with the orange. Cramming it into the numbers was the step across the line. I think their numbers look better as they are now with just teal and black. - the yokes felt out of place for them and unnecessary. They had a lot going on with the multiple stripes, multiple colors, very detailed logos (getting to this later) and adding another design element like a colored yoke increased the clutter. On top of that the yoke was the only thing that didn't include orange so it clashed with the numbers and stripes. The funny thing is 1st point is related to this point. If they had left orange out of the numbers then the yokes would've fit better with that uniform because they would've had a black/white/teal counterpart. - Logos. So the crest logo is the shark in the triangle. The shoulder patch was a redundant full bodied shark without the triangle. The current uniforms have the same issue, but with fewer stripes and no yoke it's not as much of a problem. On those uniforms the very detailed logos were an issue. Either would've been improved by the fin logo in updated colors (the diamond version of the fin logo that came out with the new logo set doesn't do it for me. I think it's the waves that I don't like).
LAWeaver
I don't like the original because there's not enough detail in the shark. I never really analyzed the logo until now but I overlooked the insane amount of outlines around the triangle and the amount of lines in the stick. I guess I'm not bothered by it because I've never noticed these details until now. With the current, while there's still some things that can be simplified (see my simplified version above), I like that there's some depth to the shark. By the way, not to turn this into my series of concept logos, I too took a stab at the Panthers logo using the leaked image as a reference: @loganaweaver - Twitter / @loganaweaver - Instagram / Nike Vapor Untouchable Football Template / Logan's Logos

If I was the owner of the Panthers I would keep the home and away as is because I think they are the best uniforms the Panthers ever had. Much better than their over-rated 90s jerseys. But I would bring back the old third jersey and put the new logo on the front (sans shield). The Catch of the Day!
