This is great news! It looks like they've ditches the fangs. That likely means a goodbye to the piping, since it was mainly there to complement the fangs. That's my (and most people's) biggest gripe with the current set.

To be honest, I never thought of them as fangs. Just saw it as piping from the reebok edge set. Mainly because St. Louis had the same thing prior to the last redesign.

What the hell are the Oilers doing? That's definitely navy.

They finally get their uniforms right again and then they go with orange for their playoff run and drop royal blue for navy like it's the mid 90's again.

Maybe they want to give McDavid a distinct era compared to Gretzky.

I'm aware others used them. Most of the Nashville fanbase, or at least those who care about jersey aesthetics, just refer to them as fangs. I guess I always assumed they were used because of the fang-like appearance. Maybe that's giving too much credit, to the designer. Either way, glad they seem to be ditching them.

Works for me. Absolutely. Cleaned up jerseys and a pumped-up fanbase. Good things happening down there.

I am a very casual hockey fan, at best, and I don't follow any team in particular but I love the aesthetics of hockey sweaters/uniforms. I can't wait to see the Avalanche and Predators new sweaters, especially.

Not sure if this was posted earlier, but I'm sure it goes hand in hand with the holes in the numbers, but all of these multi-colored names appear to be printed twill. As a jersey collector, I both like and hate this. It always bothered me when Reebok went that way for replicas and the patches were done the same way on the shoulders. By the same token, when i buy an authentic jersey, i want multi-layer twill on multi-color names. I think it cheapens the on ice product to print on twill rather than have multiple layers, but i'm sure it has to do with weight.

I think that's what the Maple Leafs are doing by changing the hemstripe- taking elements from the past and combining them to create a new modern brand for a new era.

There's actually a LOT that  we can tell from these teasers...

A lot of teams are changing at least the collar...

Arizona, Columbus, Los Angeles, New Jersey, and San Jose... And this is just without any other significant change from the teaser...

We also know that the Blue Jackets will have a new (at least name) font...

Colorado is completely redesigned, Nashville lost at least the fang shoulder yoke design, and Minnesota has completely different green jerseys...

I also heard from Michael Russo on twitter that the Wild's road jersey will NOT change.

"And those who know Your Name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You." Psalms 9:10

Why can't this team just have matching jerseys???

Because "The State of Hockey's" pro team management is under the impression that they understand the sport in a way no one else does.
