It would be hard signing on to be GM knowing that the coach - who technically reports to you - has more power than you and you can't replace him if you want.  So stupid of them.

Between the Gruden and Cousins signing, I'm not sure which was worse.  Both have set those franchises back years.

Nick Foles tied an NFL record today with 25 consecutive completed passes.

He now shares the record for TDs in a game (7) and consecutive completions.  Has the highest postseason QBR ever, and has been Super Bowl MVP.  That's crazy.

Also, 3rd-string Nate Sudfeld threw his first career TD pass after Foles got hurt.  THe receiver gave it to a fan in the stands (it was basically a Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles home game in DC) and Sudfeld ran up and took it back since it was his first.  THey gave the kid a replacement.

I've been having ethical quarrels with the brutal toll the sport of football takes on players' bodies and minds and well-being during and long after their playing years for a long time anyway, add to it with my waning interest in football in general to boot. Making the universal mistake of reading the comment section (particularly on the Titans Facebook page this case) has just kinda sealed it for me. Folks really out here blaming Mariota and calling him every name in the book for not playing (doctor/team's call, not his) when he's dealing with nerve and spine injuries that if not cared for right can do permanent damage. If losing a playoff spot (to get the privilege of getting stomped by a better team, and let's face it, the 2018 Titans are no playoff contender and just getting in would be a miraculous fluke) means a little less likelihood of reading something like "former QB Marcus Mariota now quadriplegic" in the news in 30 years or whatever, that's the better deal. Leaving it all on the field for your team as an athlete just ain't the same as destroying your body for someone else's entertainment.

Still can’t believe a man who literally failed at his job completely - like he was unable to accomplish the one thing he was hired to do... in nineteen tries - was not fired. If someone was unable to fulfill their job description in sixteen tries in any other profession - even in this profession! - they should and would be fired immediately.

Same thing applies to Marvin Lewis. I dont know what Marvin Lewis has to blackmail Mike Brown in order for him to keep his job, much less hire the man who went winless coaching the Browns last year as an assistant. Now more than likely if some miracle occurs in the Marvin is hired, Brown being the idiot that he is will promote Hue to head coach. Even if Hue is hired. the minute Marvin is gone Cincy will hold a parade to celebrate just as Cleveland did last year celebrating a winless season.

To add to that, current NFL Head Coaches Anthony Lynn (Chargers), Jason Garrett (Cowboys) and Doug Pederson (Eagles) were still playing when Vinatieri started his NFL career, as was Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and Jay Gruden was playing Arena Football.

Browns are going to be a playoff team next year.

I'm already starting to hate Baker Mayfield.  He's waaayyyy too Ben-like for my taste/comfort.

So is Nick Foles going to the Super Bowl again?

The only question is will he be MVP again.

If the Bengals fire Marvin Lewis only to turn around and hire Hugh :censored:ing Jackson, they deserve to be contracted from the league.

Also, we’re getting Eagles Pats part III in the Super Bowl and the Pats are going to win by 87 touchdowns.
