GDAWG Posted November 11, 2023 Share Posted November 11, 2023 With the AFL saying that Rockford is a part of Chicago (when it's clearly not), we saw this before: in the USFL when they spent 2023 saying that Canton is a part of the Pittsburgh market (when in reality, it's closer to Cleveland than Pittsburgh). Tucson already has a team in the IFL, the same league as the Rattlers, owned by the wife of Kevin Guy, who coaches the Rattlers. Prescott (Northern Arizona Wranglers) is in the same league as the Arizona Rattlers and the Tucson Sugar Skulls. I can't see how this AFL Arizona team is able to compete with an IFL team with an already established fanbase dating back 30 years. The AFL has said that they are competing against the IFL and they are playing at the same time. They might be able to get some Rattlers fans who were upset by the move to Glendale, but like 99% of them will still remain loyal to the Rattlers. I mean this is a league that is putting teams in Salem, Oregon, the VooDoo in Lake Charles, and Chicago in Rockford.
