Kawhi needs some help out there. I think they've got some guy names Paul George or something like that, but I didn't see him do much of anything that mattered.

People keep saying the Clippers are some “Super Team” with a legit shot at winning the title, I see a team that will be lucky to win 2 games against the Lakers.

And I hope to god I’m wrong because I could not stomach another “Celtics-Lakers” Finals.
Especially when there’s nothing likable at all about this Lakers team.

Great series. Though I do feel like it shouldn’t have been THAT close, but every time the Celtics had a chance to slam the door shut, they bounced it off their foot and into their face instead. A real stress-test for the theory of having a roster without a true star, but lots of very-good players.

Exceptional series for Marcus Smart, I thought, who’s really evolved into a two way player (didn’t see that coming in 2015 or so). Of course Lowry was outstanding again.

Do feel like the Raps have written the book on how to neutralize Walker, though.

You might be surprised that far, far, far more people hate any team that has anything to do with Boston than the Lakers. Especially in this year.

The Clippers have a ton of talent, but it's very much a collection of guys. PG has good games, but isn't reliable and definitely isn't a leader. Beverly is at the end of his rope. Harrell is very good, but probably best served as a 7th man. Zubac was a steal from the Lakers, but they need a starting center over him. Lou Williams doesn't play defense. Kawhi, however, is all-everything and will never ever give up and will always keep coming. He's the terminator and can keep any team in a series.

I think Kawhi and Butler are the two players most likely to drag their team teams as far as they possibly can go, but LAC has significantly more talent than Miami. However, the pieces fit better in Miami and Spo is probably the best coach left.

I can see the presumed final four (LAL, LAC, Boston, Miami) in any combination in the Finals. I'm hopeful for LAL/Miami, but won't be surprised by anything. Including Denver making it through to the WCF.

It was a hell of a run. Thanks Raptors 🙂 That was special!

We the North! 🇨🇦

The 2019 Raptors won a title and the 2020 follow-up team went on a run no one expected after losing Kawhi.

That championship validates the franchise for forever. Toronto fans have been amazing and I hope they're on the whole overjoyed with the Kyle Lowry era. It's been amazing. I hope they can add a piece to the Lowry/Siakam core and do good things next season.

If it weren't for getting to the final and winning the title last year, this would have one of those punch in the guts feeling you get when an opportunity to do either was there for the taking.

I saw, I came, I left.

Might be time to blow everything up in Houston. Westbrook isn't it. D'Antoni isn't it. PJ Tucker isn't it. Doc River's kid isn't it. And they have no draft future.

Dfwabel would something good to say here about dork Elvis, but Darryl Morey probably isn't it either.

Blowing it up means they probably eat a truck load of dead money... I don't know if Houston wants to do that.

If anything, they can do something about that dingle berry who thought it was a good idea to bring in a local woman for some 'fun'.

honestly — Harden is the common thread, the one who plays a version of the game miserable and uninspiring enough to catch the eye of the baseball dorks across town, the one who never seems to help when it matters. A great player yes, but maybe not a great player I want on my team?

I was watching Harden today and thinking about him being like LeBron pre-Heat. A phenomenal, singular talent and deserving MVP never equipped with the right team around him.

LeBron became a great player when he went to Miami because he had great teammates and a better staff; miles beyond Mike Brown and Paul Silas in Cleveland. He learned how to be a complete player there, but also had a team designed around his strengths (until it wasn't and then he left).

What does a contending team around James Harden look like? Maybe a lot like 2018, when they were some terrible officiating away (I watched game 6 closely. I remember the refs taking away the inside game from them) from making the Finals. They had Harden, Paul, Capela, Eric Gordon and other generally smart players. Harden probably needs a guy he can lob to (that was Capela), someone who can relive him at the point and/or create gravity (Paul), and strong shooting (Gordon, Ariza). And 3 and D guys.

They had a good Harden roster and replaced it with PJ Tucker and Russell Westbrook, who is a cannonball that doesn't make his teammates better.

So, good luck Houston.

I turned it off at halftime when the Nuggets were melting down.

Beverly is cooked and I see PG is -14 on the day. Okay Clippers.

EDIT: PG finished -23 on the day. Michael Porter Jr +12. One of those guys is showing up in the playoffs and the other looks like he'd rather go home. If the Clippers make it to the WCF, the Lakers will eat PG alive. He just doesn't have it.

Only one common thread: Doc. Dude ruined Lob City's chances with his awful GM job, and keeps skating by based on his reputation. All these losses happen the same way, with blown big leads. Ballmer just doesn't want to get rid of the guy.

Yeah I kind of have to agree. It almost looks like they get frustrated and clam up. Kawahi seemed like the only guy going at the end there. That reads as more of a culture problem than anything. They would definitely be doing themselves a favor in the long term by going in a different direction.
