As for Kansas City, Montana got hurt in the AFC Championship game in 1993 and from there the Chiefs organization continued their then new fetish of getting other team's backup quarterbacks for the ensuing quarter century. Then Schottenheimer got the ingenious idea that Steve Bozo is totally going to be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback in 1995 and thus pisses away the effort of an all-time great defense. Oh sure, Lin Elliot to this day would get beaten to death if he stepped into KCI, but an offense that relied on a way past his prime Marcus Allen and the aforementioned Bozo was never going to work.

From around 90-96, Carl Peterson never really stocked the offense with good talent. And, when he drafted an offensive player, it was a redundant pick (RB Harvey Williams in 91 when they had Word & Okoye) or a bad one (Greg Hill in the first round in 94 over Isaac Bruce, Darnay Scott, and Charlie Garner). He also drafted a QB in the second round in 92 (Matt Blundin) that they didn't really try to develop (or it didn't seem like they tried). They just kept picking up 49er QB's (Montana I understand, but not the other two).

How is this Andy's fault lol

Because based on past history he gives no father role to his family instead caring solely for his football team. Thus allowing his children to follow lives of alcoholism and drug abuse, including drug overdoses and prison time.

I don't know how Andy Reid raised his kids and frankly, I don't care. I'm not cheering on his parenting skills, I'm cheering on his coaching. He could very well be as neglectful as people say, but as far as I'm concerned, once a kid turns 18, their decisions are theirs, not the parents.

Also, a lot of small business owners are like this too. And I don't mean scammy bull :censored: like Amway. They invest a lot of hours into their work because they want to provide the best life possible for their children but wind up so exhausted from their work that the kid winds up alone a lot, raised by their grandparents by and large.

I know this because I was one of those kids. I knew my parents loved me but I got like 2 hours maximum and by the time I was a teenager, I didn't really want to be around them. So the most I got to be around them was on trips. On the flip side, I also was and still am a lot more independent than a lot of my peers because of it. So, that's my reasoning. Not just because Reid is my team's coach.

No matter how much you claim to “love the game”, If you’re neglecting your kids because of that, you’re a :censored:ty human being.

Makes sense that Reid would also want :censored:ty humans like Hill playing for him too.

That's why I call him Ward Cleaver.

MOD EDIT: Don't bring politics into this.

The more I learn about Andy Reid personally, the less I like.

Barrett Robbins the first time around, now this. Tragic coincidence, for sure, but the Bucs Super Bowl opponents sure have had some wild days leading up to the game.

How often does something like this happen? I feel like it’s probably not all that uncommon, with the pressure being so high leading up to the game. I also remember a Falcons DB getting arrested for soliciting a prostitute the night before the game against Denver. There has to be other pretty wild examples of stuff like this happening.

Maybe his kids are just irretrievably stupid and tedious to be around, like Bobby Draper.

It’s a gosh-darn miracle that Barrett is even alive today (especially when you hear about his run-ins with the cops).

I've been pretty vocal about my opinion of Reid considering the fact that both kids have had multiple criminal offenses (one pulled a gun on people in a Target parking lot!), drug issues, and one even died.

Here's the thing - with this pandemic and with working from home, I've gotten to see more into the lives of my coworkers, including their kids, and hearing more from them about some of the struggles they have as parents who are literally there all the time.  One in particular is having some issues with a kid that I couldn't imagine dealing with.  It's given me a different insight, especially since I'm not a parent.  There's just some things that, even if you're the most well-meaning person in the world, you don't get right, and just like there's not a playbook for how to deal with a pandemic, there's not one for how to deal with every kid problem.

He failed, but that doesn't mean he didn't try, and I can understand better why someone may want to "hide" from reality at the office.  Heck - sometimes there's just no way to win, so I'm not sure if it's even fair to say he failed.

I ain't saying I like or respect the guy, just that I haven't been fair with him in this matter, and am not nearly qualified enough to have the opinion that I've expressed, and so I'm not going to pile on now.

This is probably the least-BBTVish post of all time.  I'm going to need to work hard to get my rep back.

Strong rumor: Carson Wentz to the Bears for a #1 (not sure if this or next year), Nick Foles, and some jabroni named Taryk Cohen.

Cohen tweeted that he talked to the GM and he’s not being traded, but other reporters starting to say he is. He seems like a guy that is hurt but has a contract the bears need to dump so they prob sweetened the pot for the Eagles to take him.

That would be Eugene Robinson who, earlier that day, won the Bart Starr award for his outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community.  Granted, I don't think soliciting a prostitute is all that bad in the first place, but it's still funny.

No relation to Leonard, in case you were wondering.

When I read the trade rumor, I was like 'that first and last name don't go together'.  Kinda like "Jenifer Patel".

Listening to the ESPN crew talk about the possible Wentz trade, and it's 100% clear that they just talk without doing even the least bit of actual research or reading ESPN's actual reports.  "Carson Wentz is coachable!  He wants to be coached!" one of them said with confidence... despite literally every story being about how he flat out told his coaches "no" all the time, refused to run plays he didn't like, and even told his coaches - in front of the team - that he wasn't going to re-run certain plays in practice because they 'don't work for me'.
