How hard is it to make an exception just for these teams? And even if a hypothetical rule change were to open the door for alternate helmets for all 32 teams in the future, then so be it. The 49ers could wear solid black from head to toe twice a year for all I care. As a New Englander what we heard is it would possibly be color rush blue jerseys and a white version with 3 sets of pants ..white,blue and silver pants that would tie into the color rush jersey template better. If they're going with something like the color rush set, they could/should do it with single-color number - white or silver on the navy, blue or red on the white and (hopefully) wolf gray (with the other color used for the shoulder hoops), Maybe go solid navy numbers on the white jersey and have red shoulder hoops. It's a classy look that's distinct from everyone else. The only team close would be the Giants, and the Patriots navy numbers would set them apart.
