2021 NFL Season - Adults Arguing About Matt Stafford

Today, we are all Ken Andersons.

(also, I must have been completely obsessed with him, because as soon as I typed "K" in the search bar, "Ken Anderson" was the top hit.)

So can we call the Chiefs the new Patriots yet?

I'm already as sick of them as people were of Brady.

It’s crazy. People hated Brady so much and hoped so hard for ANYONE else, and that anyone ended up being Mahomes, who makes people just as mad if not more so. I’m trying my hardest to consciously not hate him as much as I did Brady, because that was just tiresome and a huge waste of time that I don’t care to repeat. But holy crap, it’s hard. There’s something that I just find so… Boring, about him. No idea why. He’s undoubtedly incredible, and seems like a great teammate, but there’s just something that irks me about him so much. Why does consistent success in sports feel so off putting? I can’t explain it.

What makes Mahomes so frustrating is that there's just no way to stop him. He can just go down and score whenever the hell he wants. You have the league's best D-line? Doesn't matter. He's just going to roll out and scramble for 10 seconds and run for a 1st or find an open Kelce or Hill for a TD. You never had to worry about that with Brady.

The first year or 2 that was pretty amazing, now it's just boring.

There's a reason his only 2 playoff losses have come against Brady. 1st was an OT coin toss win, and 2nd was because he had no O-line.

Yeah Mahomes is stupid good, but even Brady had his moments where he look faliable. I can't think of 1 playoff game (outside of the ones against Brady) where I seriously thought KC was going to lose.

I'm not interested in Patriots fans complaining about anything, let alone a super QB. You need to be quiet until 2030. Those are the rules.

Pat Mahomes is fine. He's really, really good and he doesn't have red hats in his locker.

Bengals have tied this game up. Wow. It looked like this was going to be a blowout after KC went up 21-3. Can the Bengals defense do what the Bills' D couldn't and contain Mahomes' magic for the fourth quarter?

As a Bills fan, I wanted the validation of a KC blowout. And now I want KC to lose.

Cincinnati doing what Buffalo couldn't - squeaking out a win on the road - would be the most painful outcome.

Sometimes sports are just the pits, no matter what happens.

Go Rams!

As a fellow Bills fan, I completely agree. I'm trying to imagine how a hypothetical CIN-BUF AFC championship matchup would be playing out right now. And honestly, I feel like it'd be a close game like the one we're seeing now.  It just feels like KC, BUF, CIN and maybe even TEN are all so evenly matched at the top of the conference that I don't think anybody could have blown out anybody in this tournament, IMO.

If KC ties it with no time left and OT unfolds like it did last week, that might be the nail in the coffin for the current OT rule.
