That was the definition of "Maybe a little too too much?" I can 't disagree more. I really liked how the Jaguars tried to come out with something different. What's interesting is, despite that, the uniforms they went with were still better than this. But I applaud them for taking a chance on being unique. On that point, is it possible that, with the leaping jaguar helmet design, they were trying to draw some connection to the USFL Jacksonville Bulls, which also used a wraparound logo on a silver helmet?

I would think that's a good callback. I think doing that with an enlarged jaguar on the helmet would have looked pretty good as well.

I suppose it's not as bad as Arizona, but it's still a painfully outdated and unappealing look. The orange jerseys have never looked good with the Nike fabrics. And the navy is their best look by far and never should have been demoted to alternate jersey status.

Nix the TV numbers and put two vertical stripes that match this old logo on the shoulders/sleeves. They could put the current lion there, or just have the stripes and leave it alone. If they're absolutely hell bent on having a wordmark on the sleeves, I guess it goes in front of the stripes - but ideally, the sleeve wordmark experiment is over. Then just slap a varsity block font like the Sanders set and call it a day. The stripe pattern works on both the blue and the white jersey. For the pants, there's no need for blue pants at all. Just have the silver (now grey, unfortunately) with the same striping pattern as the sleeves. The gray stripe can have a thin blue border to make it more visible. The helmet striping would stay symmetrical, just be simplified. The Sanders era would work, as would a reversal (w-b-w). I found this version that someone made that shows what it could look like on the white jersey with a modern lion: (not sure who to credit, but image source is this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/412572015837635252/ which states that it's pulled from a site called OffficialPSDs. I assume it's stolen from a forum like this, so if it's yours please say so.) Edit: Credit GFB for concept. Was never a fan of vertical stripes on sleeves/shoulders, and never will be. The worst part is the silver numbers on the blue jersey. Beyond that, I actually don't hate what these jerseys are trying to do. I wouldn't even mind the black sleeve stripe on the end of the sleeve if it had an outline to match the shoulder hoop. The whole thing definitely needed revision (contrasting TV numbers? Really?) but I wish they had stuck with the blue jersey being the primary color. Either way, the cleaned-up set they went with is still better than this and remains a modern classic. 2 the user formerly known as cdclt

Sport
If these had actually made it onto the field I bet they would've lasted two seasons at most before dialing things down. It reminds me of mid-90's NBA design. The sleeve stripe turning into a cat and spanning the neck hole is a weird idea made worse by being so clunkily executed.

I get Carolina having silver but Jacksonville having it initially has always baffled me. Gold AND silver? Yikes. Very happy they corrected that before the first season. 5 On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
