NFL 2023 Changes

The Panthers in all black just comes across to me as such a dumb idea. I get that Panthers are all black, but they already a division rival rival that does all black. Three of the four NFC South teams have black home jerseys and the last thing we need is a second mono all black team. That has to be the dullest division in the NFL color wise.

If judging social media graphics and draft caps is any indication, it looks like the Panthers could be moving toward a primarily light-blue look.

Speaking of which, now would be Carolina’s chance to own a piece of the Light(ish) Blue pie, with Black/White/Silver accents to set them apart from the Chargers while the Titans insist on wearing mono Navy more times than not.

I’m also kind of relieved that the Panthers’ changes seem to be minimal, given that the alternative tends to end up in a course correction half a decade down the road.

Actually, considering the frequency in which the Falcons and Saints BOTH wear all-black, Carolina would make it 3 out of 4.

I think we've gone down the road in the past of speculating on what teams were doing with their brands & uniforms based on social media graphics, and there wasn't a relation.  Who knows, though.

They do seem to be using Process Blue a little more now, and I am now firmly in the camp that preferred the previous Nike color better.  It was just bright and more vibrant.  It really popped before, but now it's borderline dull.

I wouldn't be shocked if they made Silver/Blue/White their primary to better align with Tepper's soccer team.  It would be a shame, but with how little they wore their beautiful Silver/Black/Silver sets in recent years, it would be unsurprising.

A silver helmet with black stripes, a black jersey, and silver pants with a black stripe?

The Raiders would have won that lawsuit.

Meh, the blue outlines on the helmet/pant stripes, the numbers, and the blue shoulder stripes do enough to separate them from the Raiders.

More blue rather than less blue better differentiates the two.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

How the Jets had the template right but the Colts at one point didn’t is wild to me.

This was when Adidas went to their super tight and stretchy unis. Most NFL players wore th e standard look.

That's when Reebok/adidas rolled out the TechFit jerseys. Only a few players wore that design.

AFC South is a contender for most boring uniform division. All 4 teams are primarily blue (depending on how you define teal). Lots of mono looks.

But yeah I think the NFC South would take it if the Panthers commit to all black.

I agree it's boring and most teams don't wear what they should, but I wouldn't say it has more mono than the NFC South.

I'm sure it's nothing but ESPN has the bear as the main logo for Chicago. IIRC it has always been the wishbone?

I'm all for Carolina switching to the darker process blue as its primary jersey color for home games. However, Pantone Process Blue C is a custom color, so my only related question is this: does anyone know what the approximate hex code value will be in the future for the Panthers' Process Blue C?

It's not a custom color. It's a base ink in the Pantone library.
