The plain white socks look especially silly with white pants that have giant side panels. I can't believe how much this league has lost its way.

Of course, I doubt the Snatit would add that orange, being that a/ the Snatit are trying to appeal to the entire state; b/ Knoxville is clear on the opposite end of the state from Memphis/West Tennessee aka the Forgotten Grand Division; and c/ good luck finding more than two or three Volunteers fans out that way.

Not so fast, my friend. The reason I’m a Bucs fan in the first place is because before that I was a Vols fan. A fandom picked up from an entire neighborhood of UT fans/alum in Germantown, TN (basically inside of Memphis, for those who don’t know).

I’m sure Memphis has less UT fans than Nashville or obviously Knoxville, but they aren’t full on slouches, either.

I hated the New York Titans uniforms in 2008 or whenever that was. Favre wore them, I think. Just a really unpleasant color palette, felt like Ye Olde-Fashioned St. Louis Rams or something and really took away from those perfectly nice Jets uniforms. So no, I don't think that would work for Nashville.

Yeah, I’m not saying they should use that “old gold” that the Jets used for the throwback, as that looked pretty dingy. The typical athletic gold that most teams use I think would be much better.

Panthers looking absolutely awful tonight... Was never a fan of silver helmets along white pants but this combination is brutal.

I think they looked good.

This is at least much less offensive than most of the others combos they’ve leaned heavily on in recent years.

… And? Just as I imagine the Texans could adopt light blue & red if they really wanted to, I’m sure the Titans could adopt the much more common navy & athletic gold color scheme without a problem.

If the Texans could adopt light blue and red, I think they would. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. They've been working with a new color scheme, with a bunch of designs that mess around with color balance and minor design variations. It's pretty faithful to the fan survey iirc, with each design using royal blue, red, and black. Some designs use 1 of the 3 colors, others use 2, and a few use all 3. This leads me to believe that either the Titans (or some other entity) is keeping them from using Oiler Blue.

Any combo with the yoga pants look is automatically offensive to me.

Looks like they made H-Town blue to be different from oilers blue. That might be the approval the need from the league.

I must say, the Cards look great from a distance. Not as good up close, but a great starting point to work with.

the red in the stripes don’t show up well and they almost look all silver at first. Definitely better than what they had before but also kinda boring since everyone seems to wear solid white these days. Would be better with different socks, either half red or stripes.

The Cardinals' all white uniforms look like ass.

The silver inner stripe on the pants and jersey just completely disappears. It looks like two very thin red stripes placed weirdly wide. And that's because they made the absolutely moronic decision to make those stripes reflective.  Why?  Same reason teams put useless sublimated patterns in their numbers... because they can.

All reflective, or chrome, or metallic thread elements on sports uniforms are garbage. Not usually. Not mostly. Always.

Minnesota vs. Arizona looked terrible.

If what we saw from the Panthers and MIN/ARZ is any indicator, the NFL is going to look worse this season than ever. The washed out white leggings look apparently taking over the league.

It just looks so hilariously bad, and I am actually kind of shocked that the NFL hasn't legislated against it.

This uniform reminded me of the St. Louis Cardinals football team in old NFL films clips.

Pretty sure that was the goal when deciding on away stripes

What's your take on this - not necessarily the design, but the use of metallic thread in the star.  It seems rather innocuous and tasteful (again, just the way the thread was used, not necessarily the actual design.)

No.

I know most people don't like the Golden Knights gold uniforms, but just about everyone loves the golden stripes on their other uniforms, and for good reason. Plus you can look at the NHL's switch to Reebok Edge to see how every team that got rid of metallic fabric made a bad decision.

I guess in my way of thinking, if it’s innocuous and subtle, is it really worth doing?  Like if that area that was created with metallic thread was instead just straight forward gold, would the design be different in any impactful way?  Would someone who liked it as is like  it less?

My philosophy in design is that if an element isn’t adding to the overall look in any significant way you’re probably better off just leaving it off.   I feel like so many of these subtle touches get added just to show off some new technology with the hope of selling more down the line.  I just don’t need it, personally.
