As much of an eye-roll it is, that arrogant commissioner and Nick Saban were right. It wasn't realistic to leave the SEC out of the playoffs.

 

The expanded field starting next year should fix some things, but I'm sure there will still be more things to complain about.

I honestly just want the BCS back. we wouldn't be having this argument if it were just Michigan vs. Washington because, honestly, that's what it should be.

 No kidding. The days when a team could be effectively eliminated with a loss -- like an Alabama -- were refreshing.

 

Now we're facing the very real prospect of a Zombie Alabama team winning a title it had almost no shot at a week ago, and also a Texas/Alabama final that will do incredible ratings, but reflects a second chance for those teams Washington and Michigan didn't and wouldn't get.

The committee believing Florida State is worse than Alabama but better than Georgia is one of the most egregious parts of this. 
 

If you truly believe Florida State to be inferior rank them seventh or some :censored:.

These arguments would be so much more convincing if people weren't completely ignoring the existence of 13-0 Liberty but all that tells me is that who you play and how you look when you win does matter.

Don't think too many people would shed tears for the team ranked 13th on the outside looking in. That would likely be a 2 loss team anyways. Not the same level of shenanigans as an undefeated power conference champ being left out.

I agree that Florida State got screwed. That being said, if you're Michigan, who would you rather play in the playoff, Florida State or Alabama? That's why Alabama got in.

That beautiful system that put the #4 team in the natty in 2001 despite them not playing in their conference title game (which was won by the #3 team, who they lost to H2H), resulted in a split national championship in 2003, left out undefeated Auburn in 2004 despite them having a better resume than OU, left out the only undefeated FBS team in 2008, left out TCU in 2010 despite them having gone undefeated two years in a row, was even more hostile toward G5 teams, and gave us an SEC divisional rematch in the title game in 2011.
