Gostkowski will never sniff Canton.

Revis' career was wrapping up by the time he joined the Pats. Might as well add Reggie Wayne and John Lynch to your list.

And Julian Edelman?? That's comical.

And who are the Chiefs 2023 equivalents to Revis or Edelman?

Trent McDuffie and K'darius Toney? You seriously think those are comparable?

Nah, the Bills will never trade him. He'll have a few runs to the divisional round, Buffalo will try a couple rebuilds around him. Philip Rivers 2.0

This is actually probably a more fair comparison than you would think at first glance. And that’s not really even a knock, either. Rivers is a borderline HOFer. I think most teams would want that.

You're trying to argue a team who has not and will not make a Super Bowl is better than a defending champion with 3 AFC titles, 2 Super Bowl wins.

Please.  Stop.

How many teams would sign up for "He'll get you at least 8 wins for the next dozen years but will never take you to a Super Bowl." -- Probably the Cowboys and nobody else.

They have 1 Super Bowl win. You have to win the AFC Championship game to win the Super Bowl and they did not do that last year by any definition of the word "win".

And this Chiefs team is not the same team as the won that won their first Super Bowl. That team was loaded and this one is not.

Lions fans? Browns fans?

You're also way overestimating how often the better or higher seeded team wins in the playoffs. Both teams always have a chance in a playoff game. And if you have enough shots at it, you never know.

All that being said, the Bills window is this year and that's it. The Chiefs window is already closed. The Bengals have maybe 2 more years. The way these QB deals are going, every team that gets a "franchise QB" will have nothing but bodies around him by their second deal. Tua and Herbert have next and then someone who's probably in college now.

I will be surprised if Kelce isn't playing this week.  He's going to have another great year because NFL defenses will probably still have no clue how to contain him and he'll probably get 90+ catches again and 1,000+ yards as he has been doing for the last 5 seasons (barring a serious injury of course).

The only definition of win in the NFL is scoring more points than your opponent. If the Chiefs didn't win the AFC Championship Game last year "by any definition", how did they still end up in the Super Bowl?

Last year's Chiefs weren't the same team that won Super Bowl IV either, (although it would be hilarious if they were) but it still counts.

I can't decide if you're just trolling or if you really are this silly. Either way, it's kind of amusing.

The Chiefs are still my pick to be the AFC representative in the Super Bowl, because of Mahomes, Kelce and Andy Reid.  As long as Mahomes and Kelce are healthy, they will be fine.  Also, the Refs will play a part in the Chiefs going back to the Super Bowl.

Now, as I said in the NHL thread, I love it when teams win a league title for the first time in history as we witnessed in the NBA (Denver Nuggets) and NHL (Vegas Golden Knights), however, I don't think we get that in the NFL.

Tho the Bengals laid a giant turd on Sunday, I'm not counting them. They started out slow last year and nearly got to the Supe. I still believe they're the only team in the AFC who can get past KC.

There's no need to estimate it, over or otherwise. You can look it up. In the AFC last year #3 Cincinnati beating  #2 Buffalo  was the only playoff game in which the lower seed won. In the NFC #5 Dallas beat #4 Tampa Bay, but Tampa got the #4 seed by winning the division at 8-9. Dallas was clearly the better team. The only real "upset" was the #6 Giants beating the #3 Vikings. The Super Bowl was a match up between #1 seeds. I'm not going to go back and look through all the years since 1990,  but I'm pretty sure the higher seed wins way more often than it loses.

So basically it’s the NFL’s Cavs/Warriors

Buffalo should have traded Josh Allen when his stock was at an all time high

You're not even getting paid for these takes. At least when Skip does it they give him millions of dollars.

It takes a lot more than candidates for Canton to make up a great NFL team. IMO, it’s more important to have a lot of really good players to complement the stars than it is to have the stars themselves.

Beyond Mahomes and Kelce? There’s only Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, Joe Thuney, Isaiah Pacheco, Chris Jones, Nick Bolton, Trent McDuffie, Harrison Butker, Tommy Townsend and L’Jarius Sneed (and Feed) .

Yeah, a bunch of practice squad guys for sure.

Well by the definition of the rulebook, they didn't score more points.

Other than Chris Jones and Butker, all of those guys are bottom 5 for starters at their poisition.

I know you're trolling (and I'm enjoying it) but just to talk up the Chiefs I'll mention that Townsend, Thuney, and Humphrey were all All-Pros last year

Lol, like, at least half of the league would be fine with this.

The Bears would take this in a heartbeat.  I'd rather see an always-the-bridesmaid team like the Cowboys than any more flat garbage last place Bears football.
