Divisional round set!

Texans vs Ravens

Buccaneers vs Lions

Packers vs 49ers

Chiefs vs Bills

Hopefully the division round will be more competitive. Lots of lopsided games in the Wild Card.

I think Bills-Chiefs & Lions-Bucs will be close. Texans & Packers will have a tough time.

Not for nothing, but those Sapp Bucs only stomped the McNabb Eagles once in the postseason...the one in which they went on to win it all.

Huh, you're right!

Those Buccaneers were in the playoffs for what felt like forever, but it was 5 out of 6 seasons (which is good), and they lost in the wild card twice and the division and conference once each. And, the Eagles actually stomped them the first two times they met!

One of Jared Goff/Baker Mayfield/Jordan Love/Brock Purdy will be in the Super Bowl.

It would be Goff's second Super Bowl, and I think people forget how good that Rams offense was before they ran into the Pats buzzsaw.

Can’t even enjoy the Eagles completing their legendary collapse because of how bad the Cowboys played yesterday. Though at least, if the Cowboys are trash, then Eagles are too.

Here’s to hoping the winner of the battle between the old NFC Central rivals makes it to the Super Bowl! Wish we had Pat Summerall and John Madden on the call for that game too, would have been perfectly nostalgic.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

Willing to bet Summerall/Madden not once called a Lions-Bucs game.

And you’d be wrong. I should have taken you up on that offer. They’ve done it at least once, 1997 Wild Card game. I barely remember that game as a 6 year old

EDIT: And once more in 1998, Week 14.

Yeah they kicked the everloving :censored: out of us in those first two matchups, and twice in the regular season, too. By the time the third one rolled around, I was actually feeling kind of depressed about it. It was the last game at the Vet, the Bucs had never won a playoff game in the road or in the cold, so I figured it was over. Then Brain Mitchell nearly housed the opening kickoff and I had to get up and take a walk. But they kept it close and Barber clinched it with the pick six.

Thats still my favorite ever Bucs game, and the only other time I thought they were for sure gonna get bounced and didn’t. Something about the Eagles, man.

It's so funny, because I was rooting for the Eagles hard during that time, considering the Bills stunk, I hadn't moved west, and McNabb went to Syracuse.

I just remembered the Eagles flaming out so many times and in my head, it was to the Buccaneers.

But instead it was 5 playoffs in a row, always past the wild card, and losing the conference final three times in a row. Ouch.

That's nice. But in the 25 other years of the NFC Central's existence (so like 50 games total), Bucs-Lions was specifically reserved for CBS's C or D announce team.

Ironically, there's more upset Cowboys fans that have never even been to Texas than there are Cowboys fans in the Dallas area.  While they certainly have a home-field advantage (though the Lions should have won there, regardless of what some folks say), their games against any well-followed team are split 50/50 at best .  Yesterday was at least 50/50 Packers crowd, and so are their games against Phila, Buf, Pit, and other teams with similarly-rabid fanbases.

They're one notch above LA, LV, and the Florida teams.

Packers 'fans' are nothing but frontrunners.

GB fans are nothing but phonies who think the NFL didn't exist until Favre arrived.

Lmao this guy.

And yet, Pat and Madden called their only prior playoff matchup (also on Fox), which is why I was reminiscing about it.

I can't shake the feeling that this is going to be the moment where playing in a dome finally comes to bite Detroit in the ass.  yes, I understand it was the right decision, but me personally, I'd prefer to take the approach that forces the Florida team to play a road game in Day After Tomorrow conditions.

Nightmare wildcard weekend for the Browns? They get obliterated by the team they traded a haul of picks to for the Walking Pornhub Clip and then watch the QB they dumped win a playoff game with another team. Only way that could’ve gone worse is if the Steelers won.

And I’m really glad the Steelers didn’t win. To call them frauds would be inaccurate - Occasionally frauds look good and trick people into thinking they’re good. Not once this season did they look good. Only in the playoffs due to a Steelerian lucky run of seeing backup QBs on the schedule. It’s a lot harder when you have to play an actual starter, eh?

Yeah the Eagles were in free fall -

One of the more enjoyable Bucs games in the past 3 seasons. Should have been even bigger if a few more catches were made, but I'm not going to complain about the best defensive game I've seen them play since the Super Bowl.

On to Detroit, playing with house money

I don't know how you felt about this, but that game to me felt like Tampa Bay's Super Bowl. Once they won that (and a/ exercised the demons of both Philly phatigue and b/ the cold--which actually happened a week or two prior, at Chicago), I knew they were winning the whole thing. (Think Miracle on Lake Placid...as humongous a milestone victory as that was for the US Olymic Hockey team, it was still only the semifinal game.) That they went on to wreck Bill Callahan's Raiders as thoroughly as they did was just icing on the cake.

That kinda just happened, no? (Dolphins at Chiefs in sub-freezer conditions)

The actual Super Bowl was a bit weird for me, as my cousin was on that Raiders team, and I grew up going to Raiders games and a ton of people I knew were HUGE Raiders fans. I was the only one who was really happy in the room for that one. Oh well. It was still great.

I believe the kids call that karma. I also believe the Browns could have had this exact season with Baker Mayfield at QB. Instead, team management sold their souls to the devil and here we are. What makes it poetry is that the Browns can't even sell their souls without screwing it up.
