I'm not sure but what I will say is the Jets did have a different version of that logo in the end zone, it stood out to me at the time because I have never seen that font without the plane. The thing that bothered me was the outdated stripes on the helmet. I grew very annoyed of it and wish they followed the stripes they had on their white pants and place upon the helmet. They were trying to copy the Ravens and Panthers which was to me a dumb move. I get why they did what they did: a traditional 3-stripe decal would cause them to either shrink or alter the helmet logo, as the flames would run into the stripe. Since you said that, I rather keep the logo and lose the stripes. They are not necessary at all. I rather they do that. The Titans might. They still have a slot open since they only have 3 jerseys: white, navy, and throwback.
