"Futuristic" College Jerseys

They've mentioned on the radio down here in Miami that the Hurricanes are going to wear "futuristic" jerseys next weekend (10/22) against Georgia Tech. Apparently it's Nike driven. Miami will be the first of four schools to wear the uniforms.

I haven't seen the jerseys and have no idea what they look like - other than that one of the radio guys said they make the players look like Spiderman.

This is different from the 1967 throwbacks that the Canes are going to wear the following weekend against North Carolina.

Has anyone seen these or know more details?

Miami already has the most futuristic unis in the NCAA.....

I'm a little scared to think of what these will look like, my guess is solid orange with some sort of huge U logo on the front.

because in the future, everything is bigger

Maybe in the tradition of "everything old is new again", Nike will guess that the future is so way out that the uniforms are actually ultra-traditional. Just to screw with people.

Or maybe I should close that window - the toxic fumes are making me delirious again...

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

The UM bookstore started selling the jersey last week (they've since been asked by Nike to pull it off the shelves until the team wears it - now rescheduled due to Hurricane Wilma to 11/19). The word is this is what it looks like:

The only differences seem to be the one orange sleeve and that there's no number on the orange sleeve. Seems like much ado about nothing - and it's pretty lame to boot.

When my sports management class interviwed U of Miami athletic director Paul Dee this past summer, he told us that the Canes would be wearing a jersey with two different colored sleeves. He also tipped us about the throback jersey before that was made public.

When I saw the new undershirts that Nike was putting out this season, I thought Dee had been talking about those. Apparently, he actually meant a jersey.

Stupid, Stupid Nike.

Also, this is post 1500. Suckers.

That's not futuristic.. that's craparistic.

It looks like it was sewn together from random pieces of leftover scrap material.

that reminds me of the time last month when my cousin was giving my other cousin a haircut...that barely qualified as a haircut, I remember wondering how you even cut a bald head

plop, this is just Nike taking their lame shirt idea and putting it on the jersey <_<

If this is it, it's a major lame-o move. I agree with the point that it's NIKE's evil way of marketing their stupid two color undershirts. Why not throw the darn number on the other side? Are the orange ones going to change? How about the white? Will it have one green and one orange sleeve?

lame. Nike needs to just stop. Just seriously stop. Enough bibs and pipes and weird crap on the uni to go with their stupid multi colored sleeves and accesories. Just stop, Nike, please.

Maybe the orange sleeve is where the player name is going to go. Sure, this sounds like a stupid idea, but it'd just be adding more stupidity to something already stupid.

The only thing I can give the NY Yankees credit for is that they are not a part of such nonsense.
