tajmccall
Oddly enough, i remember being like 14 when they came out, and many kids having the jersey. I noticed there was a descrepency (spell check...too lazy) in the colors of the dark away-come-home unis. They were probably supposed to be fixed by then, but i do remember some of them being distinctly maroon, ala the gophers, then later them being much more purple.its all ugly to me. good riddance, a horrible disney cross promotion gone wrong for FAR too long, and the fact that they think they must adhere to any tradition they think they have stamped over the past decade is kind of silly, but i respect there is a fan base, and changing the name completely is bad for business seeing as they have been quasi-successful. LMU
This marketing guy told me that the Purple they chose was a very unique color, and that if you were going to attempt to match it in a paint store or something, you might call it "Eggplant". So, that's what I've always called it. Even though it's not REALLY official. Officially, it's Mighty Ducks of Anaheim Purple. I'm pretty much responsible for it being called Eggplant - I've had it on my Team Color Lists that way (although I just recently stopped calling it that), and I think that you'd never really see it listed that way on any official documents. Hmmm... funny, I always remember it being called "plum."

Sodboy13
As also seen on the IHL's Detroit Vipers, who comined plum, teal, and red and made it all look dang impressive. Kit
I, for one, am going to really miss the Mighty Ducks primary logo; I understand the motives for removing it, but it's so good at conveying both one mean-looking duck and hockey. Add to that that the Ducks had one of the most unique colour combinations in sports, and it's really a shame to see the franchise shaken up like that.As soon as I heard Mr. Vicious' explanations of the colours, I thought of the Golden Seals (specifically in their California colours), but obviously orange in place of the gold. It's a shame they've felt compelled to do this. I'm not much of a fan of the current Anaheim jerseys, but at least they're different. If the Ducks play in the Seals' garb, it'll be very meh, so far as I'm concerned. Not to mention that there are ENOUGH teams in orange: Flyers and Islanders both use the colour extensively.I don't know; I think they're just going to abandon an audience that (while not amazing) is constant (every kid knows of the Mighty Ducks; even in Australia, where people would be unlikely to be able to name one other team, except maybe Toronto or NYR), to celebrate mediocrity in a whole new way. Not only won't they be mighty anymore; they'll also be boring.

It's a shame they've felt compelled to do this. I agree with this whole-heartedly. While I agree with dismissing the cartoonish name, the logo is distinct, original and clever. I will also miss it. Korkie
That jersey was definitely original, lol, but I don't think its fair to indict the primary logo due to the stupidity of that particular jersey. That's what whatever company makes clarino/jenpro calls their color that matches the ducks, too. A lot of them just have team names attached like "DC Blue" and "San Jose Teal", but that purple is just "eggplant".

cupie
That third jersey has to be one of the worsts of all time. But the ducks eggplant jersey with their logo, i think looks great. I will be sad to see it leave. I think over the years it has aged very well. Discrim
the one thing I know, the only thing wrong with the Wildwing jersey was the illegible font. I've said this before, and I'll keep saying it til the day I die.I'm gonna miss the Ducks' logos and colors, I'll tell ya that. CC97
Not a joke or a gag. Like any other good reporter I can't reveal my source just yet, but you have to trust me on this. I'll even give you a description of the logo. Slanted Text much like the 3rd jersey, with Anaheim stacked on top of Ducks with a webbed foot making the letter D in ducks.
