Joey Porter a Dolphin, eh? Reminds me of the Seau signing a few years back. A guy on the downhill of his career but still got a few productive years still left in the clock. He sure wasn't worth the $20 million guaranteed though.

It SUCKS to see Wes Welker go, but the Pats would have made a poison pill deal and get would have to give up their 2nd round pick anyways, so it was nice for both sides to do it the classy way instead. Harrington and McMichael deserved to get dropped... they simply weren't worth the money and were not getting better.

I don't know about you, but this free agency has been nuts...

I think im someone who can agree with that

Dolphins may get Trent Green according to ESPN I would love that. If Culpepper is not healthy now he never will be and Green will be a great replacement. What will be interesting is the draft if Brady Quinn slides down to #9 the Dolphins almost have to get him.

From the Saints side of things:

FS Deon Grant of the Jaguars still in the running

CB Ken Hamlin still a possibility

We're doing exactly what I'd hope we'd do: be patience, strengthen the LB corps, reconstruct the secondary, and keep our core together.

I'm not quite sure why the Saints are hunting starting safeties when they have Bullocks and Harper. Granted Harper got hurt but these guys they're looking at are starters. And Hamlin is a safety not a CB according to everything I've found on him. What the hey are they going to do about corners (yes, corners - McKenzie is getting older and hasn't been impressive the last couple of seasons).

I agree with your last statement though I'm puzzled over the age (30+) of some players they're considering.

Stevens is not very smart.

He was a total ass as a Huksy. Many a bar in downtown Seattle has stories of Stevens getting drunk, starting fights, molesting women and having to be thrown out. He smashed cars up while drunk.

He did this as a Seahawk too, although I know of no DUI incidents after that last one as a Hawk.

On the field, he's inconsistent. There are games when you see his potential flash before you and you think he is finally going to emerge, but then he has games where he drops critical passes. He's had work ethic in the past, but comes and goes.

He's moody, inconsistent and unreliable. On a good day, he's a fantastic Tight End, its all a matter of whether "game day" is a "good day", and for Stevens that has always been a roll of the dice.

He's also a Husky which means he stinks to high heaven and licks his own genitals. :)

wait a second, the Plummer deal went thru? What the hell happens if we give the Broncos our 4th round pick in a trade and Plummer does decide to retire, do we get that pick back or are we screwed?

I dunno. Id think the trade would be void but im not sue. Either way this is another fine mess Tampa has got themselves into.

Story

LOL.

Anyways, good riddance to Joe Horn. May he go far, far away from the NFC South and I wish him well anywhere but here.

Oh, the irony.

Joe Horn is a Falcon. Who wants to place bets on an especially inspired performance when the time comes to play the Saints??? :D

Never thought I'd see that the day that Wes Welker is worth more in a trade (2nd an a 7th to NE) then Thomas Jones (2nd for a 2nd?) I know running backs are all of a sudden completely indespedable, but you're telling me, that a valiant performance in Super Bowl XLI wasn't good enough to elicit a little more then a swap of twos? As for Joey Porter, confusing signing.

Miami gets rid of all these guys (Harrington, McMichael, Morris, Welker, Wilkinson, James, Anderson, McKinney, and then they splurge on Porter?) I hope they have a plan to right the offensive ship, because as of this moment their top two threats are uh, Marty Booker and Derek Hagan at WR and David Martin at TE, as well as Ronnie at RB. Any thoughts as to what Cam Cameron is trying to do here?

High Quality Entertainment for the masses.

The 49ers also signed Eagles safety Michael Lewis and will lose out to the Patriots for Adalius Thomas. It also looks like the 49ers will sign Ravens NT Aubrayo Franklin and will try to snag LB Donnie Spragan from the Dolphins.

So the Patriots are throwning money at Adalius Thomas, who has signed.

Wes Walker, Kyle Brady & Sammy Morris are also signed.

Randy Moss is in the mix as well.

Are they the new Washington Redskins?

Oh, and I've got a site.

ESPN just said that Jamal Lewis agrees to terms with the Browns. I guess the Browns won't need to take Adrian Peterson now. I'm a bit skeptical here, though. He's 28 years old with I guess a few good years left in the tank. He hasn't been in trouble with the law for about two years, so maybe he's cleaned up his act. Signing Lewis probably makes Reuben Droughns expendable now, even though I like him.

The Redskins have been eerily quiet (for them)

They've Re-Signed

Jimoh, Fox, Pucillo & Albright

And only picked up London Fletcher & Fred Smoot

They've also lost Dockery to the Bills for silly money (and that hurts a little, they need OL depth). And Kenny Wright's gone to Cleveland

Apparently Joe Horn signed with Atlanta as well...I just saw it on Sportscenter

Wow shocking. Saints-Falcons is not to the level of Redskins-Cowboys or Raiders-Chiefs but I know there is hatred there.

Broncos signed Patrick Ramsey for a backup QB. Busy, busy off-season for Denver.

Seems like the Broncos have signed, or have been interested in, everybody.

Does Cleveland signing Jamal Lewis mean they're going to draft Brady Quinn assuming the Lions take Joe Thomas?

Accually, I think this means that Tampa Bay's chances of landing CJ just got even slimmer. Now we have three franchises who are notorious at making bone headed decisions ahead of us  Tampa needs a reciever WAY more than any of the three before them, but fact also is that the three before them give the possibility of selecting anybody. This added bit of uncertanty is gonna freak me out till draft day. I say that now we really need to look further into trading Plummer's rights along with the #4 to Oakland for the #1. That is the only way I see us landing Johnson come draft day.

Willis McGahee to the Ravens for a third and a seventh rounder this year, and a third rounder next year.

And I don't think Peterson will fall at all, I think they'll probably ship out Droughns and go to 2 back system everyone seems to like now.

Yeah, I saw that he signed with the Falcons and thought, "Say it ain't so, Joe."

The rivalry is probably one of the reasons Horn went to Atlanta. I've been following this on the New Orleans newspaper's website and apparently his leaving the Saints wasn't about money. He probably wants to play in Atlanta so as to have 2 chances a year to show the Saints they made a mistake.

I like, admire, and respect Joe and what he did for New Orleans on and off the field. In that spirit, I wish him all the best...14 games a year that is. :P

I will like this deal IF they can get an ok RB to fill his void, thru Free Agency or the draft.

And Ravens fans, in 2010 or so look for him to tell a reporter that the Ravens should move to Toronto.

Sigh. I'm mostly pissed because I just bought my brother a McGahee Bills jersey for Christmas because I assumed he would be there for at least a couple more years. Bummer.

Anyway, I think three picks -- two high ones -- is good value, especially considering McGahee's had just one good year. Maybe things will be different behind a good line in Baltimore, but somehow, I think the Bills just may come out ahead on this one.

Now who do they get in return? Anthony Thomas won't start next year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Dominic Rhodes or perhaps a stud in the draft. Although, I'd much rather Buffalo draft for defense than skills position, but what do I know.
