Well was Tugnutt ever any good in the regular season? Turco is terrific October to March then he vanishes.

Tugnutt has the 10th lowest Goals-Against Average in NHL history.

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

Sweep for the good guys.

The last time the Rangers won a playoff series, I had not yet hit puberty - but I remember it like it was 10 years ago.

Spoiler

New York Rangers. Stanley Cup Champions - 1928, 1933, 1940, 1994. Saskatchewan. Cold. 1905-2022.

Why would Atlanta go back to Kari Lethonen after Hedberg made over 30 saves in game 2 and Atlanta only lost by 1.

I would also like to say Turco has been one of the best Stars in the series he is great at playing the puck and has forced the Canuck to change there game a bit. Luongo is playing amazing though and if it wasnt for him the canucks would be down in the series.

I think that move came from upstairs. Lehtonen's the future of the franchise, the young superstar on the rise, and Hartley probably had his hands tied when it came to that decision.

However, you can't fault Lehtonen for Game 3, he was playing his butt off when the rest of the team essentially didn't show up. He would have been pulled if the two games weren't played on consecutive nights.

[removed because of limit]

Scott Gomez

Bringing the series tied back home!

Go Devils!

Forget about Scott Gomez. Zach Parise should get the :notworthy: without him the Devils would be done. Kid is clutch.

I know that. Parise has been amazing in this series and he leads the playoffs with six goals. The only reason Gomez gets the :notworthy: is that he scored the overtime goal. I would have given the :notworthy: to whoever scored in OT.

I gave hockey a bit of a rest last night, and only watched a bit of the Sharks/Predators game as I got home late from work. That series is not the most exciting in the world, by a longshot.

Congrats to Rangers fans.

It will be interesting to see how flat Detroit is tonight. They were awful in game three.

Next year will be our year. The evolution is still just beginning

This was one of the greatest years in our history. And many more great years are to come.

See everyone in September at training camp.

Thank god there will be no more Crosby love fest

You're obviously a biased Senators fan... :P

Anywho, from the ESPN comments section:

I'm sad the Pens are out. Crosby will be headlining NHL coverage only every other day now.

I was rooting for Ottawa this series because of Crosby. He is great and entertaining, but I can barely watch any nationally televised game with him in it. All the annoncers say is Crosby, Crosby, theres a goal by Ottawa, You know that Crosby guy, boy is he good, did I mention how good Crosby is?....

But I won't be rooting for Ottawa in their next series against the Devils or Rangers. ^_^

The Dallas Stars survive!

Vancouver-Dallas has probably been the best goaltender matchup of the playoffs. Even if the Stars are eventually eliminated, no one who has watched the series will blame Turco for anything. And rightly so.

Some great games last night! The Flames/Red Wings games was a hoot, especially the third period.

The Canucks have a Don Cherry moment with too many men on the ice! GM Place was a silent as a graveyard when the puck bounced over Luongo's shoulder! Could Vancouver be choking again?

Congratulations to the Senators, I didn't see that game, but that was a nice series win.
