2007-2008 NHL Logos & Uniforms

Just want to note that I have a Penguins 2007-2008 logo sheet, and there aren't any changes to the primary at all. None.

Are you positive? Because what I was told came directly from RBK very recently and I was told different. PM me if you want to know exactly what I know about it because I am very confused now as to which is true. At the moment though, I am going to continue to go with my source until proven otherwise, just because I received this info recently, same with the Flames tid bit.

Like I said, my file is from April - it's certainly possible that something had been tweaked since then. We won't know until the eventual unveiling I'm guessing.

True enough. Considering we never heard about either of the two teams doing anything to their logos up until I did about two weeks ago shows something has changed since the end of the season. I have no reason to doubt my source at this point in time, but like you said, we will know for sure what is going on when they unvail their new duds.

Come on people, no one waits for something to be requested before posting it. If anyone finds something new, you can expect to see it in here, if not, well, I guess it has not been leaked yet.

I had only heard "tweek" and "modification" connected to those two logos from a very good source. So it could be anything from a colour tweek to outline tweek to anything subtle. I'd explain more about all of this but I really can't...

I hope the Penguins tweek their logo. On one hand, it's just as outdated as the Sharks now old logo. On the other hand, I believe the tweeking should be traditional. The changes should be minimal or just like what the Arizona Cardinals did with their logo. A tweek to the eye, the beak, the curves on the penguin's body and the skates could do some good and that would be very refreshing. That's also what would make most people happy, IMO.

Yeah, i was hoping we'd go back to our gold/black like the steelers and pirates. I think that's cool that all 3 major teams in Pittsburgh share the same 2 colours...i was never a fan of the vegas gold, either variation of the vegas gold. I liked the original yellow because if you look at an Emperor Penguin, we have a legit excuse to use the colour.

Most fans don't like change or a tweak of a logo they love, don't get me wrong, i love the Penguins, they are my #1 team but there are things i'd love to see changed about the logo.

Things i'd like to see changed...

The skates

The stick - tapered? wt* why is it tapered? how about proper tape as well?

Beak - It should be sharper, it looks like parrot's beak

Gloves - it's a glove with ADD...seriously, i know it's an old school glove, but time to update it.

Eyes - a little anger, well intensity would be cool, no eye colour, the way it is, is cool but maybe a more brow definition of the emotion...

Stuff like that would be welcomed, as well as maybe defining it more as an Emperor Penguin, can't be some ordinary penguin right? I mean hey the Bruins changed their logo back to their old school one, but the bear was updated properly, it was brought into the new age not the lame outline brown blob it used to be.

Stuff like that i am extremely open to for the Penguins logo, i don't want it anime'd like the Shark's logo or anything though...cartoony would be a step in the wrong direction.

As for some of the people who have critized the photo for being done on MS Paint, it was, plain and simple. My uncle who works as a designer got the picture sent to him of the 08' leaf jersey but couldn't send me the actual picture itself because of copyrights and infringement trademark laws. So he basically did with what he had at his place as quick as possible to show me and came up with the Paint job done shot of the new jersey, this is not a fake, this is as real as the sens choking in the cup final, Go Leafs GO!!!!

But, I could have drawn something up and said my uncle was a designer too...

The new one looks like the old one left in the sun for too long. I like the old, it looks fresher.
