FiddySicks
Just further proof that the Tiny Ten is the most overrated division out there. The Tennessee Cal game is looking pretty good so far. BlueSky
App State is in Boone, NC...population 13,500 or so. Juddley
I went to my local bar to watch the Bucks game, but it also happens to be a Michigan Alumni bar. And I have to tell you that may have been the most uncomfortable room I've ever been in. Of course, it was fun to point out to a couple of the "elitist" style Michigan fans that the Mountaineers weren't going to fold up like a cheap tent and they were a two-time, defending national champion. Also, it probably isn't a good idea to point and laugh at dejected fans after their season was torn asunder in only three plus hours time. Billy B
Illinois lost to Missouri, Juice got hurt but I still thought they were going to come back. I think they should be able to get to a bowl game this year if they stop losing all these close games.Right now Indiana is beating Indiana State 31-7. Thanks to the Big Ten Network I don't get to see my cousin play. He's got three tackles at the half, hopefully they keep it up and don't let the Sycamores back into it. lets_go_red
The reaction at Camp Randall was very similar to Beaver Stadium...the game was in the 1st quarter when the game went final and everyone went nuts...as far as the "tiny ten" comments...idk they have 2 30(+) game winners over the past 3 years...tied for tops. Obviously Michigan's loss is an unbelievably bad one...the big ten is by no means a powder puff conference the past four or five years their seem to be 4 or 5 contenders and the big ten stadiums are some of the hardest places to win, making app states accomplishments that much more fantastic, the fact is...although the 2 teams in the BCS last season from the Big Ten were walloped...their should have been 3 Big Ten teams except for that gay rule. The top 5 or 6 teams in this conference are ALWAYS STRONG with around 2 small conference quality teams. Im shocked at the Appalachian State result...but spectacularly happy ...wow K-State way to blow it...Look for Michigan to bounce back from this wake up call and become the Big Blue of old. ON WISCONSIN!!!!

ON WISCONSIN!!!!You make good points, except that in addition to the top two, most of the other Big Ten teams lost their bowls. Couple that with a mediocre showing in the opening week, and there can be some truth to the "tiny ten" Conference cracks. Thad
I know it's getting old, but being a student at Appalachian, I feel like I must comment. WR Coco Hillary was in my sociology class. I see Armanti Edwards all over the place. I go to church with Julian Raush (Who's girlfriend is drop dead gorgeous)I couldn't believe this game. It was simply amazing and magical. I woke up hoping to score a touchdown. Who knew we were going to score 34 on UM? The sad thing is that I've seen the team play much better. Armanti made a few mistakes in the second half and we dropped about 12 points. Two bad interceptions. Mike Hart ran all over us. The defense needs to sure up. But who cares? WE BEAT MICHIGAN. K Rich ran for 88 yards against an amazing defense. Dexter Jackson showed why he made the NCAAs in the 200m dash. Our young defensive line showed up to play and almost manhandled the Michigan defensive line at times. Ever since this game was annouced I've talked to friends about winning. The only serious person in saying we would win was my girlfriend. But this is huge for the program. We have the most publicity we have ever gotten ever. Appalachian football has put Boone,NC on the map and every App student I know is reveling in this victory....at least until Lenoir-Rhyne comes to The Rock on Saturday - there's more business to take care of. Like the guys have said, this is one of fifteen wins we want. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% about how you react to it.App State Mountaineers / Alabama Crimson Tide / Atlanta Braves / New York Jets / Atlanta Hawks "If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride - and never quit, you'll be a winner. Seadragon76
What else happened on Saturday...-Michigan ain't the only one to get bitten by the 1-AA upset bug. Rice got upset by Nicholls State 16-14 after a blocked punt went into the endzone for a safety.-More proof that the Big Ten sucks royal ass? Minnesota gets upset by Bowling Green 32-31. Yep, let's pour some more salt into that wound. -From the 'DUH! That's supposed to happen' department, Hawaii's Colt Brennan tosses for 6 TD's in the first half (!!) in a 63-6 raping of lowly little Northern Colorado.-On the 1-AA side of things, there are a few goats on Thursday night (LaSalle and Chattanooga). Well, you can another goat to that list. UC Davis fell victim to Division II Western Washington 28-21. Also joining the club is Stephen F. Austin after they lost in OT to Division II Tarleton State.-Oh. Remember Jerry Glanville? Well, he's at Portland State and.. Eh. Not so hot. His Vikings lost 35-12 at McNeese State. [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness.
