AL Central: Detroit Tigers

AL West: Los Angeles Angels

AL Wildcard: Toronto Blue Jays

NL East: New York Mets

NL Central: Chicago Cubs

NL West: Arizona Diamondbacks

NL Wildcard: Philadelphia Phillies

It's pretty clear that the AL is pretty set with Boston, Detroit and LA...

but I can see a free-for-all for the Wild Card between New York, Toronto, Cleveland and Seattle.

I chose Toronto cause I'm a big homer, but I like their chances if they can manage to stay healthier than last year.

In the NL, I could see any combination of New York, Philly, Chicago, Milwaukee, Arizona, Colorado or LA making the playoffs.

I just picked the 4 that I thought had the most beneficial off-seasons... although the only team I'm sure will make the playoffs are the Mets.

AL East: Boston Red Sox

AL Central: Detroit Tigers

AL West: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

AL Wildcard: Seattle Mariners

NL East: Florida Marlins...they're about due for their post-firesale World Series run

NL Central: Milwaukee Brewers

NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers

NL Wildcard: Arizona Diamondbacks

AL MVP: Miguel Cabrera (DET)

AL ROY: I'd love to say Brandon Wood here, but I'm gonna stick with Joba the Hut (NYY)

AL Cy Young: Big John Studd (Lackey) (LAA)

AL Manager of the Year: Jimmy Leyland (DET)

NL MVP: Matt Holliday (COL)

NL ROY: Cameron Maybin (FLA)

NL Cy Young: Cole Hamels (PHI)

NL Manager of the Year: Fredi Gonalez (FLA)

Other notes(mainly regarding my boys in Anaheim):

- Casey Kotchman will prove to be an elite first baseman in Anaheim. Before injuries halted his 2007 campaign, Kotch was in the top ten in batting average and on-base percentage, and only Pujols had a better fielding percentage.

- The Angels have the best outfield in baseball, period. Juan Rivera's 6th on the depth chart. Ridiculous. As much as I love the guy, trade him...for his sake. The guy deserves to be an every day starter. He can play first base, but Kotchman's a beast, and Kendry Morales has supposed potential, not that it's been shown yet in the bigs.

- Perhaps it's just wishful thinking, but I'm gonna go ahead and say Jim Edmonds is going to have a comeback year in San Diego. So Cal's been good to the Jimmer.

- Khalil Greene might end up in Anaheim come the deadline if Wood and Aybar don't pan out(I say Khalil because they were interested in him over the offseason). The Halos have a surplus of outfielders and starters to make a deal...perhaps they can get someone even better than Khalil.

- Ervin Santana better not suck this year. I know it's not a prediction, but dammit, he's a great pitcher, who pitched like he was in little league last year.

- Bring back the Ralley Monkey. Again, not a prediction, but do it. Heck, bring the Thunderstixx too.

- World Series prediction: Angels(of course) over D-Backs

Think the Marlins have a World Series run in them put some money on it in Vegas they are 200-1, you can win some nice change if that comes true.

The Rally Monkey never left. Just so happens that when the team's gone from unlikely winner to perennial contender, they're not going to have to "rally" back all the time. And, in terms of Santana, apparently he pitched a no-no or close to it in the Dominican league. I'm just crossing my fingers that the Konerko trade ends up happening, and if Figgins is gone, put Kotchman at third.

Anyway...
