SEC white

MG helmets

Recommended Posts

I work with an "old-timer" that grew up watching football in the 50's and still thinks all helmets should be white with grey facemasks. He asked me to come up with this to see his vision for the SEC. So, I thought I'd share. It's odd to see them all in white helmets. Although I would like to see my Bama bring back the white helmets for road games.

With all of the effects, the helmets look almost silver rather than white. That being said, I think the Gators is the only one (of the ones that aren't already white) that is an improvement over their current look.

As for the helmets, they are interesting, although the Georgia helmet looks kind of funny to me. Maybe a little more red on it would help.

I lot of those look great. Florida and Ole Miss are good, and a lot of the others have used those before (LSU, Ky, Vandy, MSU).

The only one I'm not crazy about is UGa, with the white on white. How about coloring the G red?

I agree. The "G" needs to be colored if the shell is going to be white. Some of the others would be interesting to see, especially Florida and Ole Miss.

Maybe it should be changed to look somewhat similar to what the baseball team uses

With the exception of Georgia, Arkansas, and Florida (too Auburn-y) these are off the freakin' chain! Nice work, man.

Out of the ones that are "different", Kentucky looks the best. Maybe it's because they were white and I still think they look better in white (also, need to get rid of the "U"-- whenever I see them I am wondering if am I watching Kentucky or the United Kingdom).... Your design fro Vandy was again, what they wore from 1986-89, and could be seen as an improvement (though I generally think that if you have old gold as a major part of your color scheme, you NEED a gold helmet-- see New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Army, Navy, Purdue, Colorado, UCLA, etc. )

Other than that, not a fan of any SEC colored helmets going white. I know my alma mater LSU used the white ones on two occasions, but no one I knew liked the look. Alabama, to me, needs to stick with the crimson helmets at all times. And call me crazy, but I prefer the old garnet South Carolina helmets with the logo in a circle that they wore between 1983 and 1998...

It is what it is.
