I'll amend my past statement.

There's only two Cubs fans I feel sorry for... Steve Bartman and Curty.

Curt will be fine, he was pretty much prepared for this. Actually, I think ALL Cubs fans were in some way prepared for this. It's instinctual in nature to be so.

With that said, GO PHILS.

It's shocking.

If you were to tell anybody in, let's say, mid-season that the Cubs would make the playoffs as the top team in the NL, only to get SWEPT by the Dodgers and be the first team out of the playoffs, they'd laugh in your face.

But I guess any seasoned Cubs fan probably saw this coming. Still, wow. The Dodgers probably played perfect baseball all 3 games, and the Cubs absolutely stunk it up in the 3 games.

And therein lies the problem. The Cubs would have been better off starting the series away from Wrigley. The fans' expectations of disastrous failure has a harmful effect on the Cubs' psyche.

The Cubs started on the road last postseason and got swept by the Diamondbacks.

The Cubs can't lose in October if they don't reach the playoffs, right?

That edition of the Cubs got into the playoffs because they lost slightly less often than the other teams in their division. This team was actually good. There is a difference.

That much is true. They were definitely big time underdogs last year. This year not only were they favored to win this game, they were the NL favorite to represent the World Series. This is a colossal failure.

Well it looks like there will be substantial overlap between the Rays-White Sox game and Angels-Red Sox game. That mean the Angels-Red Sox will start on TNT. Sucks for people watching Titanic and want to see the end (Spoiler alert: The boat sinks!)

Well at least that poor dude will get to steal the chick away from the rich guy and live happily ever after. EDIT: :censored:. Looks like the poor dude ends up drowning after all.

On topic: Is it just me or is Buck Martinez another Tim McCarver waiting to happen?

Well the Angels just officially eliminated themselves. 2 down in the bottom of the second and an extremely catchable routine blooper drops in between three fielders. They're one game away from elimination and the Angels just showed that with all of the talent they have, they have ABSOLUTELY ZERO heart. Just disgusting performance by both top teams in their respective leagues. This is easily one of the worst post seasons I've seen in years.

HR Napoli and it's tied. It's clear that either Beckett isn't 100%, rusty, or both. He doesn't look like himself out there.

And Kedrick just struck out again.

BTW did anyone catch Buck Martinez call the Angels the Yankees after the HR?

I wouldn't worry though, it's just been 4 years since the Cubs one the World Series. They'll turn it around soon. It's not like this streak can stretch out to 100 years.

There's no question that Kendrick has no business out there. He only played a series before the playoffs after missing about a month with a hamstring injury, and he hasn't had any time to get his timing back, which is killing any confidence he could have had. They really should have started Sean Rodriguez.
