NHL 2009 Super Special Playoff Edition Megathread

I think we have a series now. The Pens got away with too many men, but that's the home cookin' i had mentioned earlier. At least it wasn't like the non-call of a blatent penalty in Detroit that directly led to a goal in game 2. In my mind, as Doc Emerick stated last night, most "calls" tend to even out over the course of a series.

Game three was the best game of the series so far, and i think it was the best of the two series these teams have played, save for the triple-overtime game 5 in the 2008 Finals.

Pitt took game 3 at home, and they'll take game 4 as well. A series isn't over until the home team loses.

Not true at all.

Hush...if he chooses to take his talking points from the broadcast crew, why should we stop him.

No, the series ends when one team wins four games.... :P

I've always wondered who is the first to start these silly cliche catch phrases in sports that become so popular for a while.

I know its the broadcasters, but who actually thinks to say that and that its a good idea?

whatever...

And yes, as Dan points out in the 2003 Mighty Ducks' case, the series can start and end before the home team loses. (NJ 1,2; ANA 3,4; NJ 5; ANA 6; NJ 7)

If the Pens take game 5 they have 2 chances to wrap it up and the first opportunity would be at home!

GO PENS!

-Dan

With me in attendance, to. Seeing us win it in person would sure make up for seeing us lose it in person last year.

Needless to say, if we win game 5, I wont be able to sleep.

The winner of game 5 wins it all in my opinion.

If the Pens win, they wrap it up in 6 on home ice.

If Detroit wins, they wrap it up in 7 on home ice.

Btw, how dirty was Kennedy's goal...
