Still MIGHTY
Leafs add Beaucheminhttp://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2009/07/06/leafs_beauchemin/Goodbye Francois! I'll always remember you as "Boom Boom" and "Frankie Knuckles"It's also quite interesting that he signed for a little bit less than most had expected.Maybe the Ducks could have made a harder push for him?Oh wellahh, Francois Beauchemin. The biggest reason the Ducks absolutely fleeced Doug Maclean and the Blue Jackets way back in the Federov deal. He turned into quite the player.Exactly.Apparently, Maclean didn't think much of Beauch. And former assistant GM and now current GM of the Ducks insisted to Brian Burke that he shouldn't complete that deal unless Beauch was included. It worked out I'd say | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |
BBTV
I just happened to be looking at the Flyers roster and the thought crossed my mind, "Am I the only one who sees this huge glaring weakness that will get them ousted in the first round of the playoffs?" That weakness? In goal. Brian Boucher and Ray Emery? They didn't have a couple of cheap guys down in the minors? Are they completely devoid of goaltending in that franchise? Couldn't get ahold of Yutaka Fukafuji from Japan?Welcome to... well, the last 20 years. Apparently, Rick Nash (who has some strong international history playing with Heatley) is pushing for this. Possible players that could be heading to Ottawa include Filotov, Brassard, and Huselius. jonas1111
According to nhlnumbers.com the Blackhawks are still 6 million under the cap. That website is probably the best out there for salary cap situations.Heatley wants to play in the west. However, Ottawa will only want prospects and picks from the trade. Not many western teams have the cap space to do it.

Some were just one-game fill-ins. I don't even remember Leighton or Houle. Also, if you're going to bust out Roussel (1989-ish?) that would mean that you have to include such legends as Tim Cheveldae, Stephan Beauregard, Tommy Soderstrom, Pete Peeters, Ken Wregget (who was actually pretty solid), and a few others that I don't feel are even worth me typing out.wasn't NItty supposed to be the goalie of the future.Don't think I've ever heard him thought of in that manner. He posted a shut out (vs. the Rangers I think?) in his debut back in '04 or '05, and people got excited, but I don't think the organization ever thought very highly of him due to his inconsistency. To the best of my knowledge, they haven't had a "goalie of the future" since Tommy Soderstrom... who turned out to be everything but the future. EDIT: Maxim Oulette was once thought of as the future, but was shipped to Washington in the stupid Adam Oates trade. Guess he wasn't the Caps' future either. Guys like Blake, Hagman, Ponikarovsky, and Grabovski can't (or haven't yet) put up the numbers to be a team carrying scorer. All the defensive signings keep leading me to believe that Kaberle is on his way out. I don't know if the Kaberle-Kessel trade rumours at the draft will come to fruition or not, or if that will really benefit the Leafs overall.
