While were at it, Pens acquire Kovalev.

Sad that the best the Sens could get was a 7th rounder. Kovi is the Rodeny Dangerfield of the NHL.

Same thing the Leafs gave up for Aaron Voros.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

With the dogs getting boatraced, the Sharks just won in Pittsburgh with Patrick Marleau scoring with 4 seconds left in OT

For now, the Sharks are in thier rightful place....first in the pacific.

I have to say, the Sharks defense is really impressing me lately. That has always seemed to be a bit of a problem in the past, and it's still not perfect. But overall it's getting better.

You mean five teams for three spots with the Kings winning late last night? :P

But don't count out the Jackets just yet. The CBJ are 7-2-1 in their last ten and 10-3-3 since the dismal early January road trip. Big games against Phoenix tonight and in Nashville (oh why am I kidding myself? No need to think the Jackets are gonna win that one. ) that could pull them even closer to a spot.

I need to stop looking at the standings every night, but I can't. It's a compulsion. The Jackets are still in that area where if they just take care of their own business then they'll be fine. They don't need to worry about anyone else. If they continue to play like they have they'll be fine. The problem is that it's so tight that every loss is extremely detrimental and every win doesn't seem to do anything. If I was sure that they were going to stay on this pace then I'd be fine, but with 20+ games left that's more than enough time for them to fall into another slump. Because of that, I'm a nervous wreck (figuratively speaking) every time they play.

Also, they're like 1-8-1 against Phoenix in the last 2 and a half seasons and terrible in Nashville as you stated. This weekend will be huge in deciding where they are, though I've been saying that for every stretch of games for the last two and a half weeks.

They still have more than a good shot, but I just have no idea what to expect from this team on a nightly basis. Will the last quarter give us the team from the first quarter that went 14-6, or the team that's 10-3-3, or will the team from December and January that forgot how to play hockey altogether rear its ugly head? I wish I could just fast forward to the end of the season. I'm impatiently waiting this whole thing out. I just want to make the playoffs. That's it.

Well it'd be nice to win a game this time around. :D

But really, I definitely think this team can do it. It's looking like Mason (12-5-1 in his last 18 or something like that) has finally returned to something resembling his form from 2008-09, which is really the key. Rick Nash has really stepped up, and whoever's playing with him (be it Derick Brassard or Derek MacKenzie) has been able to produce. That's the sign of a true leader right there.

*Crossing his fingers for a playoff berth. I'm hopefully going this year if we make it. :P*

The Canucks would love to have Columbus in the first round, as if nothing else, it pushes a rematch with Chicago back at least two more weeks.

Just let us win 1 game. One of my teams hasn't won a playoff game since 1995. That's all I want, 1 GD playoff win.

Thats if Chicago even makes the playoffs, theyre one of 5 teams tied with 70 points at the bottom of the Western playoff picture.
