hawk36
Armin over at Brand New crowned this as the worst logo of 2011. Can't say I'm surprised.http://www.underconsideration.com/brandnew/archives/the_best_and_worst_identities_of_2011_part_i_the_worst.phpBravo Brand New. Should make the worst of a lot of lists that's for sure. Design Hovie Studios
Frylock
Finally saw both the orange and black hats in person today. Really, the logo looks sharp on the hat, but it's so dang large. Also, the orange hat is amazing in person. It's not too bright, like the old Astros hats, nor is it too dull like the Bucs creamsicle orange. I've gotta say that I like them both. Really, the logo looks sharp on the hat, but it's so dang large.I guess that matches up well with the overall goofiness of their look, then. FiddySicks
Finally got by my local mall that has three lids affiliated stores in it. (lids, hat shack and Sports Fanatic). Only lids had three orange hats. No one had the blacks. Asked the guy at the counter if they were out because they hadnt received alot or if the demand was high. Employees were saying that cant keep them on the shelves fast enough. This is in North Carolina. Funny thing was they had plenty of the new Blue Jays, Mariners, Orioles hats.Same out here in California. Went to the Galleria In Roseville tonight and all three sports stores were completely out of the black caps. Brand New can rip on this rebrand all it wants, the caps are selling unlike any of the other teams who rebranded this off season. It may be that it's new, but I don't think so. Really, the Marlins black cap is pretty genius. It's black so therefore it's pretty subtle, yet it has so many colors within the logo that it goes with just about any casual wear under the sun. Plus, as Gothamite said, the stitching looks fantastic. I don't find the logo to be too big either. It's better than the Indians cap where the logo is much too small. CubsFanBudMan
That's the first time I've seen a spammer go back and edit their edited post back to spam (not the one above, but the same username on the last mobile page). Breaking new ground here. Have yet to see a new Marlins cap in person, but I doubt I will prefer it over the previous black cap. And I'm still not convinced they'll ever wear the orange, based on the unveiling. We'll see.
BigBubba
Does MLB reveal merchandise sales? If so, I'd definitely be curious to see what the most popular sellers are and where. The_Admiral
It appears salmon pink. I like it. Still wish it had green. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
andycumbee19
Saw the new orange hat the other day in Lids. Hate to admit it, but yeah.... I liked it. So did my girlfriend (but that isn't suprising.) They had the new Orioles smiling bird hat too, but not the new Blue Jays hat.

FooMasterX5
While the logo is huge, if it we smaller it would look much worse. There are some snapback replicas with much smaller logos and it just looks terrible.
Sodboy13
When I saw the orange Marlins hat at the New Era store in Chicago, it looked like a hunter's vest, safety orange. Extraordinarily bright, and the fact that it was on display next to the new Orioles cap really emphasized what a particularly loud shade of orange it was.EDIT: Found it on my phone. Trust me, it's even brighter in person. tubby34
Two things, The Marlins were supposed to wear the orange cap at the unveiling but the player grabbed the wrong cap and walked out---that was that. No one noticed either as far as the people in attendance. They will wear it, probably with the home jerseys and the orange jersey. The orange they are wearing they are calling red. Red in talks with everyone in the organization you talk to. Mandarin Red in the teams sales reciept for buying the cap. It's orange, but its more a light bright red then a orange orange. Weird color to explain really. Nice though. It does grow on you.

There are some snapback replicas with much smaller logos and it just looks terrible.Disagree. If the size were decreased some, it would look much less like a New Era fashion cap and closer to an actual on-field cap. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
TruColor
The Marlins call this color "Red-Orange"...here are the textile colors:I'll post a comparison of the Astros' old Orange vs. the Marlins' Red-Orange later...
BigBubba
I guess it sells so well because it looks like a fashion cap because of its bright colours and would look cool if an average Joe was wearing it around town. But once a pro ball player wears it in action 162 times a year, it'll look fugly as hell. Nobody cares about your humungous-big signature.
