New Marlins Uniforms?

That's no fish. The M is wearing a stylized visor all askew like the kids nowadays enjoy. See the flat brim? It's as if the M is a caddy at a local course but is acting all "rebellion" and showing what an indivdual he is. Until his manager tells him to knock it off, of course.

Why are the jerseys different in this picture? Bottom 2 have a white outline while the top 2 don't. Most obvious are the white filled o's on only the bottom jerseys. Or is it just the light reflection, making it look different?

Looks to me like the top jerseys have the white outlines too, probably just light reflection. Check the "O" on Magadan's jersey (he's #18).

Wow. Great catch.

Given that, I'm surprised that the logo didn't leak before.

The ends for the rows weren't installed last time I went into the ballpark. I kept wondering why all the aisle seats were missing the support. Guess the custom order took longer to come in.

We should start a petition...Those were too awesome to be replaced.

Thankfully I own an authentic road jersey from their first set. Love it! How come Dave Magadan and Brett Barberie have hat logos on their turtlenecks, but Jeff Conine and Orestes Destrade don't? Weird.

It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

Anyone know where that picture was taken? It couldn't have been in Miami because they're wearing the road unis and it would be insane to wear sweatshirts under doubleknits in Miami, even in March/April.

Might just be a first year flub on either the Marlins' or the MLB's part.

First thought was Candlestick.

Agreed. They're standing on the foul line along the third base side (road dugout) of Candlestick Park. The seats are red and orange for the Giants & 49ers.

Conine and Destrade were wearing mock turtlenecks. They don't fold over and there is less room to add a logo.

as a Marlins fan:

1) I was never big on their logo. any of their logos. I liked the teal, though, because it was unique

2) I like this new :censored: because it's unique, like, we're a unique underdog team (even though word on the street is we might have a $100m payroll next year :D :D :D )

3) People reacting to this are thinking this leaked logo is evvverything. obviously, there's going to be a lot more and people shouldn't overract until the entire new package is out

4) I absolutely love the new cap logo

what street have been on? :/

+that logo on the seats in the new stadium, white on blue, looks amazing.

I'm actually kind of shocked how much I like this silhouette logo as opposed to the multi-colored logo that was leaked. It seems to allow the simplistic looking marlin design to stand out and do its thing against the 'M'. The multi colors definitely ruins it.

For those wondering what happened to all the images in this thread...

At the request of Major League Baseball we will not be showing any unreleased MLB logos on these message boards. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope you understand.

The new Marlins identity is just another chapter in the epic fail that is the ownership of Jeffrey Loria. It all started with Opening Day of 2002 when they ran out of hot dogs, to the trading of Miguel Cabrera, the firing of Joe Girardi, etc. This is a poorly run organization that has done more in driving away fans than actually building a fan base. The trade for Ozzie Guillen would not be a bad one but who are they going to trade? There is a reason that they are in last place and their manager resigned half way through the season. Back on topic, first the nearly 50 pages demonstrates more thought and care then most of the Marlin fan base. Secondly, IMO they will not have a redesign in 2015 regardless of the response because Loria and Samson don't care about the fan base. That begin said, the new caps will sell. I collect baseball caps and will own one eventually even if it is one of the ugliest in my collection.

You do know that was actually Wayne Huizingas fault as he owns and generates all the revenue from concessions at the marlins stadium right?

The fault would be with both. Even though Huizenga owned the stadium the tenant (Marlins) is in communication with the food vendor which Huizenga did not own. The popular belief is that Loria was ordering based upon Expos attendance and the order would have lasted him through the All Star break.

I'm curious now...there's been a ton of backlash. Would the Marlins go back to the drawing board, or would they just say screw you guys, we'll do what we want. By the way, this was a quote from an article today:

Jeffrey Loria clearly wants to make a splash when the rechristened team moves into its new, $515 million home in April.

"Basically, what Jeffrey has instructed all of us is that no stone will be left unturned in order to make this year a memory and make next year unforgettable,' said team president David Samson, who would not discuss possible free-agent targets.

"He said, 'I want people to forget about '11, forget about Sun Life Stadium, forget about the Florida Marlins, and I want the Miami Marlins to have their franchise start by making history.'

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. Well, for any of the Doubting Thomases, that should be the final confirmation.

I dont remember if it was in this thread or the MLB 2012 thread, but someone passed along a rumor that the Marlins would be dealing for Guillen. Lo and behold, SI is reporting that tonight.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

I got more details out of my uncle, who's in town. They have multiple new caps, and at least one of them isn't black. He said that the logo that's been leaked isn't exactly what's going to be on the caps. He thinks that the uniforms are actually rather classy looking, not uber-modern as people have feared. Both home and away have MIAMI as the script. Oh, and he said that the Marlins have a deal in place to trade for Ozzie Guillen. It's pretty much a done deal after the season ends.

I will never doubt your uncle again.

I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that we'll be seeing both the Prince and the Machine in Miami next season
