I don't know if this Arizona team is dangerous enough to remain a threat. They certainly hang in there, but they're like 1-8 against the Giants now. Of course the Padres were 12-6 against the Giants last year, though.

If they can stay healthy, I think they'll be able to hang around longer than the Padres did last year. Their team is much more balanced than the "we're going to try to win every game 1-0" Padres of last year. The DBacks have been hitting and pitching well so far, so they definitely have a better shot than San Diego did last year, but I don't think they're good enough to beat out the Giants and the Rockies.

Once again I say, I love Danny Espinosa! Walks off against the Cards! The Nats are playing great ball lately.

Trailer for moneyball. Looks interesting.

If I really wanted to go see this movie, I'd buy MLB Extra Innings and watch the real thing.

The Braves beat the Mets tonight....via a walk-off balk.

Only the Mets, folks!

I remember 4 years ago, the Giants up by a run over the Mets, and they balked in one run and gave up another balk, and eventually lost the game.

I guess you would call that a balk-off.

The Mets should give K-Rod the eletric chair. If not, trade him for a young closer or feliz on the Rangers.

LOL.

I'm :censored:ing SURE the Rangers would just be lining the :censored: up to make that trade.

Trade us Nefatali Feliz for K-Rod, or else he gets the chair!

Yeah, I don't think the Rangers would make that trade even under those circumstances.

It's not like Dallas/Fort Worth is the #4 media market in the entire nation.

No, that couldn't possibly be.

You can't be 4. You're Dallas, you like, have cows in the outfield.

I can't believe that the craziest part of this post isn't the joke about the electric chair.

Anyways, the Mets have dominated the Braves for most of this season...but wow, way to make a good chunk of both fanbases forget about it with a walk-off balk. That brought back memories of Kenny Rogers walking the Braves into the '99 WS.

Actually, according to Nielsen Media Research, Philadelphia is #4. Either way though, teams like the Rangers, Astros, and even Giants don't get the attention nor ratings that you'd expect from markets of their sizes. Not sure why this is.

Curtis Granderson on pace for 50 home runs. Who is the last center fielder to do that? Griffey Jr?

EDIT: Looks like it was Andruw Jones in 2005. Here is the list of centerfielders with 50 home run seasons.

Ken Griffey Jr. - 56 (1997)

Ken Griffey Jr. - 56 (1998)

Hack Wilson - 56 (1930)
