2011 NHL Playoffs

Bruins are in their heads.

Minimal chippyness through 2 periods and the Bs still intimidated the Cs.

PK is doing the job.

I wish Luongo stayed in all game, but I knew he would be pulled after a 4th goal.

Huge game 5 in Canada.

If the Bruins win I think the Canucks will pull the el foldo in game 6.

A Vancouver win could re-energize them for a Cup shot in the Gah-den.

I agree completely. Canucks backs are to the wall for Game 5,

Bruins can win a Game 7 in Vancouver, but the Canucks have to stop this momentum otherwise back at the Garden in Game 6 they will be done if they lose a third straight at home in Game 5.

Cute seeing Burrows get the business end of Timmy's stick then curl up in the fetal position after he shoved him to the ground. This guy is the definition of a douchebag. I also very much loved the complaing by Olczyk (I think) about Marchand going low on Sedin. It was a late hit to begin with, nice cartwheel Sedin, you go girl.

Anyways, once again the Bruins raise the bar and the Canucks fail to match them. Brutally outplayed in every aspect of the game. I'm completely okay with Vancouver refusing to pressure Thomas. This guy is the definition of aggressive and they're doing nothing to curtail that; until they do you can expect the same type of performance you saw tonight.

As for the refs, I haven't read all the posts but were they particularly awful tonight or was it just me? A bunch of ticky-tack offsides calls for both sides and I saw 2 questionable penalties, one for each team.

I don't understand, the play is either offsides or not. What's ticky-tack about it?

There was one in particular with a Canucks player, I can't recall who, but he was onsides. They were quick to the whistle all night with the offsides calls when many of them looked pretty damn close or straight up onside.

Brutal showing by the Canucks tonight. I don't know what it is with this team with a series lead, they get satisfied way too quickly. Just awful from the Sedins and Kessler.

Edit: I also give Boston credit for turning it around, whether it was Julien or the players, they really got their act together in the 2nd intermission of game 3 after not scoring on the major penalty to Rome.

This series reminds me of a series a few years ago between the Sharks and Oilers. San Jose won the first two pretty easily, blew game three, and then got dominated in the final three. I think Boston has found their swagger and I can't see Vancouver winning another game. Well, at least I hope not.

Even cooler: Raffi Torres' team will go down!

Hey, if the crowd invigorates the team and they can get an early one by Thomas,

the Canucks could be in business.

I am certainly not saying the Bruins have this sewn up.

However, if the B's can win this game, I feel very strongly the drought ends Monday night.

12-1 at Boston, but you believe that Vancouver can force game 7 if they're down 2-3? You're very modest. ^_^

I'm expecting that if the Canucks win tomorrow, 80% of Western Canada's law enforcement should be dispatched to Vancouver on Wednesday to cover either the greatest mass party in that city's history or something that makes 1994 seem like a small tussle.

I'm not certain why they would riot on Monday if Boston ties the series considering in this scenario, there would not only still be a Game 7 in Vancouver, but the Canucks, by having won Game 5 in this scenario, would have proven that they would be able to bounce back from any sort crushing defeat like the last two games, that Canucks fans should feel confident enough that they can still win it no matter how badly the Bruins may whip them in Game 6.

Yeah but 1994 Vancouver came out looking not so good after their display in Game 6 and 7.

Though I fully expect Don Cherry and all of Vancouver to send the message not to riot and their will be a heavy police presence to prevent any riots.

17 Years ago, this was an entirely different kind of city, and the VPD were crappy at handling large events. They've had almost two freaking decades to learn from that. I heard all the same crap before the Olympics and it amounted to nothing.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.
