2011 NHL Playoffs

My theory is that they want to come back from a 3-0 series deficit instead of blowing a 3-0 lead, just to change things up this year.

And I have a theory of my own - if the Bruins do not get past the second round this year and Claude Julien returns as head coach for the 2011/12 season, then hypothetically, I could get a job with the Bruins organization, steal players equipment and resell it on eBay, piss on the Garden ice one hour before game time with clear evidence of me doing it, call Peter Chiarelli's wife a variety of names and still be able to keep my job.

If you thought watching the Bruins fall to the Flyers last year was embarrassing to watch, just give this game a watch and try to lay off the antidepressants.

I'm a Caps fan, those are part of my daily diet.

Bobby Ryan gets two games for his stomp on Jonathan Blum.

After watching the replay, knowing Ryan doesn't have much of a prior record and accounting for the fact that playoff games are regarded as worth more than regular season games, this seems about right.

Viewing the replay, I agree that Ryan's stomp was intentional and not necessary. But, seriously, was it really worth 2 games? The NHL ceases to amaze me.

I'll disagree with you on this. Two games is perfect. While I like Bobby Ryan, to use a skate like that is uncalled for. That's a friggin' dangerous weapon!

Isn't the accepted conversion rate on suspension and injuries 1 playoff game : 5 regular-season games?

It wouldn't be April if this didn't happen.

Now that the Habs beat Boston twice at the TD Garden, I'm already thinking sweep. We'll see if home ice advantage for the next two games really pays off.

The fact that Montreal took two in Boston, means Boston will take two in Montreal. It's playoff karma. Don't you know this by now? :hockeysmiley:

The Canadiens have some of the best fans in the league, a.k.a. the 7th player. This is why I'm strongly hoping that the insane Bell Center atmosphere is enough to chase the karma away. :flagcanada:

And don't forget the turnbuckle of death.

Dear Blackhawks,

Thanks for starting John Scott tonight over Pisani. Scott somewhat sucks at the game of hockey, but maybe he's got blueballs for fighting after months of not playing. At the least if the games well over by the final minute, Scott can maybe break a Sedin brother's nose or something just for kicks.

I think the Sharks can still... Ahh :censored: it. They'll never win the cup at this pace. I've never had as little faith in any of my teams as I do the Sharks. I used to be baffled by their ineptitude, I'm just completely sick of it now.

Hey just be glad your team has a chance at winning the Cup, to already be giving up on a team after one game is pretty fickle. (Yes I know Shark fans have earned that right and same with Cap, Canucks and so forth)

But c'mon even without Anze Kopitar LA is still a pretty good team so no need to fret over having a split heading to the Staples Center or Bell Centre if your Bruins fans. If the Flyers taught us anything is that until the other team has gotten to 4 wins it's never over.

Not really, though.

I can't think of a player more ill-suited to playoff hockey than John Scott, by the way. If it's come to this, dress all your best prospects and throw them straight into the fire for next year. Don't waste time dicking around with John Scott.

Well as long as Jon Quick is playing like he has in Game 1 and Game 2 then LA can do some damage.

Why aren't the Hawks putting in Kyle Beach, for example? Ben Smith did a good job for them in Game 3, and Beach at least seems to have a chance of scoring. No one on Vancouver is going to fight Scott.

Why aren't the Hawks putting in Kyle Beach, for example?

Because they want to win? They should put in Klinkhammer before Beach. They should put in anyone before Beach. In fact, last I checked, Chicago had called up 10 from Rockford and Kyle wasn't anywhere on that list.

Beach was injured a lot this season from what I heard. Tack on the fact that he just doesn't get it (it being hockey) I would imagine that next season's preseason will be his last opportunity to make the roster before forever being banished to the eternal fog of the AHL's labyrinth of failed potential/mediocrity.
