Gimme Bulls in 7, Celtics in 6, Thunder in 5, Lakers in 5.

Rose is on a bum ankle, everyone else is playing with their heads up their asses, and the atlHawks are actually trying again. The Bulls are still the better team, but they're going to protract the hell out of this.

Celtics do another shutdown job on LeBron and make the Heat look like the unethical science project they looked like in February and March.

I enjoyed the hell out of GrizzNasty knocking off the Spurs, but this reminds me of the last time 8 beat 1 and ran into a well-coached and disciplined non-count noun.

The Lakers are probably winning another championship and it's not as if the Mavericks, of all teams, are going to stand in their way.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I'll take...

Celtics over Heat in 6

(upset alert) Hawks over Bulls in 7

Thunder over Grizzlies in 7

Lakers over Mavericks in 5

I will say about the Grizzlies, though, I think they're better than the '07 Warriors and could very well go farther. But, my gut tells me Oklahoma City takes it in what I predict will be the best series of the entire playoffs, when all is said and done.

Celtics > Heat in 6

Bulls > Hawks in 5

Mavs > Lakers in 6

Thunder > Grizzlies in 7

Celtics vs. Bulls. Eastern Final expected

Mavericks vs. Thunder. Western Final not so much but should be a lot of fun.

I believe the Grizzlies will ride the magic of Randolph and co. into the next round. The Thunder have a very good team, but there is just something special about Memphis.

NBA Playoffs 2011, First Round:

Eastern Conference

(8)Indiana vs. (1)Chicago, 4-1

(7)Philadelphia vs. (2)Miami, 4-2

(6)New York vs. (3)Boston, 4-1

(5)Atlanta vs. (4)Orlando, 4-1

Western Conference

(8)Memphis vs. (1)San Antonio, 4-0

(7)New Orleans vs. (2)Los Angeles Lakers, 4-1

(6)Portland vs. (3)Dallas, 4-3

(5)Denver vs. (4)Oklahoma City, 4-2

Whoa, I was way off with Memphis/San Antonio!! However, I'm probably not alone there. Atlanta beating Orlando was a bit of a surprise, as well.

Here's my picks for the second round:

Second round is underway, and the Grizzlies are taking it to the Thunder. 57-47 at halftime. This team just keeps fighting.

Apparently the Grizzlies and Hawks don't understand that they're supposed to start losing now.

Is it just me, or are the playoffs already better than they've been in a very long time?

C'mon Hawks-Grizzlies final!

I'd love another excuse to go to Memphis and get some barbecue!

You're not alone. This year has been 10x exciting and intriguing than the past few years, easily. I hope this continues - It'd be a shame for this year to end in yet another Lakers-Celtics Finals matchup. I havent watched a Finals with interest since 2007, and would really like to watch one again. It'd just take an intriguing storyline that isn't "Ooo The Rivalry!" or "Kobe vs. The King!" to do it for me - I'm strange in that I'd much rather watch a Memphis-Atlanta Finals over an LA-Boston Finals. Although as I mentioned in this thread before I think, I'd love an Oklahoma City-Boston series.

I dont expect Joe Johnson to do that every game. Doesnt he usually curl up in a ball come playoff time? Ugh, that was kind of a frustrating loss, but everything fell the Hawks way that game, it hopefully won't happen again. I just hope D-Rose is okay

All we need is for the Lakers to somehow not make the Finals and this will be the best Playoffs probably ever.
