At long last, we found Upset Weekend.

Goodbye 'Pokes, Ducks, Boomer, and Clemson. Good thing the Bedlam game next week saw it's hype completely derailed instead of being a potential play-in for the Championship.

Okie State isn't done yet.

Maybe not anymore, but they need a great deal to go their way at this point.

They're the lowest ranked 1 loss team between themselves, VTech, and Stanford (if they win).

Wild-ass final week of college football.

Luckily for us, there is one more final week of college football next week. ;)

Ah. I don't follow college football at all, so I assumed (and wrongly).

So we're looking at?

#1 LSU

#2 Alabama

#3 Arkansas

#4 Virginia Tech

#5 Oklahoma State

#6 Stanford (If they win tonight)

#7 South Carolina

#8 Houston

#9 Oregon

#10 Boise State

Something along those lines. This weekend has been huge for Houston, as long as they don't wuss out against Tulsa and probably Southern Miss they could be headed to Nawilins for some Sugar.

So, here's how we survey the damage:

1. LSU (They played Ole Miss. lol.)
2. Oklahoma State (Lost to Iowa State to kick everything off.)
3. Alabama (Picked an awesome week to play a FCS team)
4. Oregon (Lost to a team that isn't eligible to play in the postseason)
5. Oklahoma (Lost to Robert Griffin III catching the Almighty #Based spirit.)
6. Arkansas (They played Mississippi State. lol.)
7. Clemson (Pulled a Clemson.)
8. Virginia Tech (Barely got by UNC on Thursday. Maybe we should've seen this all coming when that happened.)
9. Stanford (Currently embroiled in a wacky rivalry game with Cal. That could go either way.)
10. Boise State (They played San Diego State. lmfao)
11. Houston (They played SMU. lol.)

What a freakin weekend. I'm spent.

Even going into this weekend, we were looking at an Alabama-Houston Sugar Bowl. That's one thing that (surprisingly) didn't change.

Holy crap, Baylor might pull this out after all.

EDIT: TOUCHDOWN BAYLOR! Baylor wins, 44-38.

At this point you know that either Alabama or LSU (or both) are going to lose and screw this thing up even more.

You were right about USC. Cheers to you.

Thanks. I just had a hunch.

By the way, where's spleen tonight? Nothing worse than a fan who doesn't show up to take his lumps. B)

Ok State's problem is going to be with all three SEC teams - if we assume the easy route, and LSU wins next week, they're still going to need luck to jump VTech (much higher chance, given their matchups at Charlottesville and potentially Clemson for the ACC title) and Alabama (much lower chance).

Alabama's loss vs. LSU is a much better "loss" than losing at Iowa State, even if the Cyclones are a bowl team this year. That said, given the disastrous loss yesterday, today went about as well as it possibly could've if any Cowboy woke up today with National Title still on their mind.

In any case, this weekend was the best and most chaotic weekend of college football since 2007, which is great for the sport.

If Arkansas wins next week, they would have beaten LSU, LSU would have beaten Alabama, and Alabama would have beaten Arkansas. All teams will be at 11-1. Who makes the National Championship in that scenario? Does a non-SEC team sneak in?

I always pictured this as the "doomsday scenario" where the only solution is to just blow up the BCS.

RGIII Heisman Trophy Winner?

Hogs will beat LSU next week. Book it! ;)

I hope so but LSU is damn scary good.

RGIII Should be a huge candidate now. Even better his NFL Draft stock is through the roof now.

As for LSU. I'd feel a bit better if it was in Fayetteville, but I can see Les Miles, pulling a Bob Stoops, which is like pulling a Les Miles only failing when being an idiot.

Montana would automatically go to the title game.

No I think Alaska State would go. They have a great offense.

I'll use the 2008 Big XII model in trying to weigh everything here. Let's assume it's a close game next week, if only because it's hard to imagine LSU losing by a big margin in Death Valley. I'll assume...17-10 Hogs.

In 2008, Texas beat OU 45-35, who lost to TTech 38-33, who lost to OU 62-20.

TTech was screwed because they had the worst loss by a significant margin. I thought Texas was jilted in 2008 personally, but in that case, there was no way the SEC champion (Florida) was going to be denied a title game berth, being an SEC team that just beat the nation's #1 in the final week of the season. That, and it was an SEC team for cripes' sake.

Here in '11, Alabama beat Ark. 38-14, who (in this model) beat LSU 17-10, who beat 'Bama 9-6.

Arkansas has the worst margin of loss. I fear they would be the odd man out here. They also have the lowest historical profile among the three teams (like Tech vs. OU/UT). I fear we're on a collision course for a re-match of the Tide and Tigers, though the Iron Bowl provides a touch of hope that perhaps Auburn can derail that ridiculous possibility once and for all.

They still have to get past Lincoln High next week. They're unbeaten, AKSt's starting QB just failed math, and that's one helluva buss ride.
