WJMorris3
Honestly not sure on TCU - I think they may end up a spot short. I have them getting passed by Clemson. Same with Michigan. (I'd think Kansas State might get in)If TCU and Michigan both come up short, I think the last at-large bid comes down to Kansas State and Boise State. I'm not so sure K-State gets picked over BSU. (Michigan would obviously be taken in a landslide over the Broncos.)Two spots would be open in that situation, actually - because right now the only one locked in is going to be Alabama and (if Alabama is in the NCG) Stanford (but you figure Stanford will get one even if it's not an autobid.) The other two are going to come down to TCU having first dibs, then Michigan, then who knows between K-State, Virginia Tech, and Boise State. (I don't think VT falls out of top 14, but Houston does.) Its only fair-they have the same number of losses overall and Nebraska beat Michigan State. It does seem unfair, but all games count the same, and Michigan State now has an extra loss. So you get to play for it all but the loser of the game was gonna get the Outback Bowl (or the Insight Bowl if Michigan does not get to the BcS). Michigan State is probably the best team in the Big Ten, but Wisconsin gets the auto, Michigan has one less loss, and Nebraska housed 'em. It's too bad, but I am not too surprised. (of course it's also about the "Nebraska" TV/travel cache, etc...too). It's a particularly tough pill to swallow because MSU, for a second straight year, co-tops the B1G regular season and comes out about as bad as they could in the bowls. I feel bad for those players, particularly the seniors. But that's the "new" Big Ten and all losses count...plus when in doubt, tie always goes to the four (or is it three now?) glamor programs, two of whom are beating 'em out right now.
