I can't imagine being a Rangers fan right now..

Did the 2011 Red Sox collapse not happen? :P

I wasn't trying to insult the Rangers, I was commenting on how hard the loss would be on the fans. The Red Sox collapse was bad, however it wasn't as tramatic on a fan as this game 6 because it happened over a span of a month and people saw it coming.

I'm sorry but if Texas loses tomorrow it'll be so much worse than the Red Sox collapse. At least the Red Sox have won the World Series TWICE in the past ten years. The Rangers have NEVER won it, and this is the second straight year they've been there. This'll be absolutely devastating if they lose. Hell, I'm STILL not over 02 and my Giants just won last year. Seeing my team get that close twice would be absolutely crushing. Even though I LOVE the Cards and are pulling for them, I feel for the Rangers. This is such a s**t feeling for them, it has to be.

That's what I was trying to say. Even though the Red Sox September collapse was bad, it happened over a long period of time, and they were still far, far away from the championship.

Also on a side note, I assumed you were a D-Backs fan because of your picture, no?

Hell no. Lost a bet to Gary on who would win the NL West. Gotta sport that POS till April.

This is a perfect example of why baseball is the greatest sport ever.

You got that right. This World Series, these playoffs, tonight's game, and let's not forget the last night of the regular season. No offense to the NFL, but let's see them put together a month like this. :D

Yet, probably tomorrow, all espn will talk about week 7 of the NFL. The WS will get some blip, an then back to who's starting at towelboy for the damn Vikings.

Post of the day IMHO.

Joe Buck paid homage to his dad! Outstanding!

That is a disgusting act.

Heading into the final innings of this game, I knew Joe Buck would pull this if the Cardinals won.

"And we'll see you tomorrow night!", Buck says as a producer informs him that tonight was his last broadcast.

It's not like it's the first time he's used that line. I know for a fact he used it when David Ortiz hit a walkoff HR in game four of the 2004 ALCS, except he said "... later tonight."

I see no issue with it anyways. It's a nod to his father.

He is a Cardinals fan. Jack Buck was his father. It was fitting. I would almost be upset if he DIDN'T use it.

This Game 6 reminds me of the Game 6 in 86.

It's funny that '86 is the one that you think of considering '91 had the exact same ending as this game.

Neither team had 2 different batters one strike away from winning it all in 1991.

Also the 86 Sox had a 2 run lead in extras, like Texas.

So will Matt Holliday even be invited into the stadium to watch the game tomorrow night, or did his pathetic excuse for a performance tonight rule that out? No way he starts. He's been a ghost since he got to St. Louis, and did all he could to hand the game to Texas tonight. Something has gotta give.

Absolutely devastating tonight. To come so close, and then on two separate occasions make a mistake... it probably took 5 years off of my life.

That being said, it counts as just one game in the standings. Just like getting absolutely destroyed in Game 3.

:censored: it, tomorrow's another game. Either the best Rangers team I've ever seen wins a title, or they get outplayed. The Rangers bullpen is depleted... so is the Cardinals. Even in Busch, I wouldn't be surprised if the scoring's even higher than tonight.

This is a Rangers team that hasn't lost two straight games since August.

:censored:ing baseball.

I hear you 'mania'; I have been to more Rangers games in my life than any MLB team, but that was because I became a professional when I moved to the Metroplex. The moves in the 9th were anti-Ron Washington.

For TEX, Ogando is done and Feliz is just a guy which STL hitters are looking dead red.

The Hamilton HR should have been what won them the series, period. Feliz, Feldman, and Ogando were all credited with blown saves tonight.

Sadly, if TEX loses, Washington will get more criticism because he does not have the tenure of any other manager (especially LaRussa).

Me, I just thank my lucky stars that Joe Buck didn't pursue a career in hockey broadcasting.

"Here's May. Down the ice. Skates around Bourque. Shot. Goal. And Brad May, who is not typically known as a goal scorer, will appear to be credited with the goal here tonight as the Bruins are eliminated in the first round."

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

You have hate sine he played for Oakland for a bit.

What may TEX have with Derek Holland tomorrow, if anything?

The Mike Shannon radio call was typical and mediocre.

No I don't. I like the Cards more than I do Oakland and was happy to see him end up there. But what I hate is how much he's disappeared since he got there. Tonight was inexcusable as well. Two of the worst blunders at the worst possible time, both just awful mental errors that gave the Rangers a run and cost the Cards one, then he comes out due to a bruised pinky finger? Are you serious? You leave game 6 of the World Series, an elimination game, because you bruised your finger? Come on now. You're a 100 million dollar athlete and this is the World Series.

I've pretty much missed my favorite team make the most immprobile run to a world series ever because of travel for work.

I was in Pittsburgh for the wild card clinching games, only saw a few innings cause of dinner meetings.

I was traveling during the NLDS, only got to watch game 5.

I was in Germany for most of the NLCS where games started at 2am local time and could only wake up to the results.

Then missed games 1-2 of the world series cause I was on a plane or in an airport both nights. Missed game 3 at a wedding, followed it on my phone and didn't realize Pujols hit 3 HRs until after. Missed 4-5 because of more travel, meetings. And then tonight, it looks like I'll get home from the airport to see the last 5 innings or so, only to get delayed out of providence and miss my connection in Cleveland to Indy, the last flight to Indy. Me and my group decided to make the 5 hour drive. Luckily, we were able to pick up the Columbus ESPN radio for about 3 hours and I heard the game from the backseat of a minivan.

I was the only one in the car that was a cardinals fan or even a baseball fan but by the end everyone was cheering.

Tomorrow i have a charity party to go to so ill most likely miss a big chunk of game-freaking-seven.

I don't think I'd change anything...

I love how everyone on my facebook are suddenly "lifelong" Cardinals fans. Man, does that team have a wagon. :P

I had to go to bed early last night and missed the 11th inning, so I was unaware as to who won. I got my answer when I woke up just now to find a facebook-gasm of "AHH OMGZ CARDZZZZ!!!" plastered all over the news feed. Needless to say, as I'm personally pulling for the Rangers (lots of family from Texas), I wasn't too happy about it. Losing that game after being a strike away - twice - is a wretched pill to swallow.

The opinions I express are mine, and mine only. If I am to express them, it is not to say you or anyone else is wrong, and certainly not to say that I am right.

Welp, I've been rooting for the Rangers since the series began.

But the Cardinals are going to win it (unfortunately). Momentum is on their side, Game 7 is at Busch and Rally Squirrel is coming through.

I really despise the Cardinals, not just because you guys beat Ted and Yaz in the World Series, but because you're the Yankees of the NL and - just like in 2006 - you got hot at the right time, and a couple of bounces went your way, and now you're World Champions.

But I'm not complaining that much. It's been a great series and game 7 will be fantastic.

Just like all the "lifelong" Red Sox fans from 04 to 09. The pink hats piss me off.
