This is a perfect example of why baseball is the greatest sport ever.

You got that right. This World Series, these playoffs, tonight's game, and let's not forget the last night of the regular season. No offense to the NFL, but let's see them put together a month like this. :D

Yet, probably tomorrow, all espn will talk about week 7 of the NFL. The WS will get some blip, an then back to who's starting at towelboy for the damn Vikings.

Don't be so quick to write off the Rangers. There were people who thought they wouldn't recover from game three.

Texas is dead in the water. Just like the Sawks after Bucker and the Cubs after Bartman. The Rangers are DONE.

Agreed. The Rangers sold out tonight, they threw everything they had and the cardinals just kept hitting the cover off the ball.

And honestly if they couldn't get the bottom of the Cardinals order out with a 2 run lead, they don't deserve to win it.

Is only these games didn't go five hours and run up until midnight....

I have to agree. How many baseball fans missed what is arguably the greatest three inning stretch in MLB history because they had to get up early?

OK, I have to agree with that as well. (BTW, nice work with "starting towelboy.")

I'm sitting here, wanting to appreciate this, and eventually I will, but right now I'm in such a hot rage that it was the Cardinals who pulled it off that I can't fully embrace this moment. Like CS85 said, if it were any other team I'd be right there with you guys, but I'm too pissed right now.

Let's hope this game 7 is a lot more like the 75 World Series where the road team came back after a devastating game 6 loss and won game 7, and less like the 86 World Series where the road team finished off the choke.

I can't imagine being a Rangers fan right now..

Did the 2011 Red Sox collapse not happen? :P

I wasn't trying to insult the Rangers, I was commenting on how hard the loss would be on the fans. The Red Sox collapse was bad, however it wasn't as tramatic on a fan as this game 6 because it happened over a span of a month and people saw it coming.

The two don't even come close to comparing. Everyone's been a part of a September collapse. (unless you're a Yankees fan)

I'm sorry but if Texas loses tomorrow it'll be so much worse than the Red Sox collapse. At least the Red Sox have won the World Series TWICE in the past ten years. The Rangers have NEVER won it, and this is the second straight year they've been there. This'll be absolutely devastating if they lose. Hell, I'm STILL not over 02 and my Giants just won last year. Seeing my team get that close twice would be absolutely crushing. Even though I LOVE the Cards and are pulling for them, I feel for the Rangers. This is such a s**t feeling for them, it has to be.

With that said, I fully expect the Rangers to win it tomorrow. In 15.

Rangers fans: It has happened before.

Go back and look at the 1975 Reds, who negated Carlton Fisk's iconic home run with a Game 7 win IN Boston -- Or the 2001 Diamondbacks, who were "dead on arrival" going back to Arizona for games 6 & 7 after getting stunned twice, late, in the Bronx.

So yeah... It could happen! (but I doubt it.)

Joe Buck paid homage to his dad! Outstanding!

That is a disgusting act.

That's what I was trying to say. Even though the Red Sox September collapse was bad, it happened over a long period of time, and they were still far, far away from the championship.

Also on a side note, I assumed you were a D-Backs fan because of your picture, no?

Don't apologize. It was a ridiculous comparison. The Red Sox regular season collapse isn't anything like, or anywhere near as bad, as being a strike away from winning the World Series, twice, and losing. Ask Red Sox fans. They've been exactly where the Rangers fans are tonight.

This series is NOT over. Texas is probably the better team. Yeah, the Cards are a little story-bookish, but Texas has a tremendous lineup. It's one game, it could go either way. Yeah, I know...The Sox lost game 7 after the Bob Stanley game (better known as the Buckner game), the Cubs lost game 7 after the Gonzalez game (better known as the Bartman game), but if they get a lead early, they should move on.

I love game 7s and this could go either way.

Oh yeah...I should have used the Fisk example...

Heading into the final innings of this game, I knew Joe Buck would pull this if the Cardinals won.

"And we'll see you tomorrow night!", Buck says as a producer informs him that tonight was his last broadcast.
