- Had to attend a seminar in Austin, TX; the Spurs were playing in San Antonio the first night so I drove down to catch the game. Saw David Robinson score his 20,000th point. This was also the night that a bat was flying around the court of the Alamodome and someone caught it with a towel.

- Saw the Saints' first playoff win against the Rams.

- At the time it was a big deal; saw LSU upset No. 1 Florida in 1997. Only time I've been down on the field to celebrate after a game.

It is what it is.

If it can include secondary school - I've witnessed a couple guys get their 1000th career points in basketball, one guy (Isaiah Morton - now at Marist) break my alma mater's scoring record and then get his 2000th point later in the season.

I've been to so many sports games it's hard to remember all of what I saw. Here are the ones that quickly come to mind.

I was at the game in San Diego where Barry Bonds tied Hank Aaron's career home run record. Worked my way into some free tickets, and got to the railing on the Western Metal Supply building just as he came to bat.

Saw Miguel Tejada (HA!) hit the most home runs in a single round at the 2004 Home Run Derby.

David Beckham's first ever MLS game.

Saw the second biggest comeback in NFL playoff history when the Niners beat the Giants in 02/03.

Saw Jamarcus Russell's first ever NFL pass. SHOCK! It was an incompletion :P

Was at Tiki Barber's final game, it was a Pro Bowl.

Saw one of the longest winning streaks in the nation snapped when Nevada beat Boise State last year.

Saw Tim Brown break some kind of record. Can't remember what it was, but they stopped the game mid series and gave him a silver football. It was weird.

I've witnessed several "big" records in person.

May 1, 1991 @ Oakland Coliseum - Saw Ricky Henderson steal career base 939 breaking Lou Brock's record

December 6, 1992 @ Candlestick Park - Saw Jerry Rice catch TD 101 breaking the all time career TD record

September 4, 2001 @ Network Associates Coliseum - Saw the Oakland A's win consecutive game No. 20 setting the all time AL record

April 20, 2008 @ Long Beach - Watched final Champ Car World Series race

2010 Season @ PETCO Park - Saw Matt Stairs tie all time record for most teams played for (he would break the record in 2011)

September 14, 2010 @ PETCO Park - Saw Matt Stairs hit pinch hit HR No. 23 setting all time record

Two glorious sports achievements:

September 4, 1993: Jim Abbott's no-hitter vs. Cleveland at Yankee Stadium.

February 17, 2008: Ryan Newman wins the Daytona 500.

December 23, 2008: Washington Capitals overcome four goal deficit and beat the New York Rangers 5-4 in OT at Madison Square Garden.

Some dubious sports achievements:

April 1996: MetroStars first ever match, 1-0 defeat, on an own goal, to the New England Revolution at Giants Stadium.

April 2010: Montreal Canadiens defeat Washington Capitals in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

First game ever at Ford Field

I was at the Tigers-A's game this year when Kurt Suzuki hit his 300th Home Run

I saw North Carolina win the National Championship in 2009

(Probably more, but all I can think of as of now)

Detroit Falcons (NABL) | Detroit Gears (UFL)
