Oregon Rose Bowl uniforms

The only thing the Cowboys really need to change about their uniforms is fixing their standard pants. Make it a normal silver instead of that greenish gray and they're all set. No crazy Nike modernizations marketing gimmicks necessary.

What they need to do is go back to their 60s throwbacks, make the facemask blue, and leave it at that.

Why you make fun of me? I make concept for Auburn champions and you make fun of me. I cry tears.
Chopping off the dicks of Filipino boys and embracing causes that promote bigotry =/= strong moral character.

I'm actually pretty stoked to see these on the field. I'm not too sure about the fact that the helmet is so chromed out that you can't see the wings, but I like it. I just wish that they would have made the helmet wings a bit more prominent; maybe make the wings a matte color and keep the helmet shiny. I'll wait till I see them on the field before I give my final opinion.

The more I see of that helmet the more i HATE it, there's no football reason to do it (not that there's a football reason for anything in uniforms anymore) & no seeming taste reason to do it, it seems to have been done just because ZOMG!!! WE CANN!!!!, same as the numbers, which are just coming across as really annoying in photographs. Not that there's anything new about this approach of course, but this year it has absolutely jumped the shark and got to a point where it's just stupid.

I just thought of something, from a competitive standpoint, those rubber wings on the shoulders are bad for Oregon. I like the look of them, but they'll be easier to hold onto, grab, whatever when initially beginning to make tackles.

Ehh maybe..Most of the time you aren't tackling the top of the shoulderpads. It might make a difference when somebody is running down LaMichael James from behind and grabs his shoulderpads but otherwise you're supposed to tackle the torso

That's an interesting point, but most major college teams with stretchy jersey materials tend to use double-sided carpet tape on the shoulder pads, which sticks the jersey to the pads so they aren't pulled off and jersey tackled as easily.

I know how you make tackles. I've watched football before. I'm saying that in close, in situations where a running back lowers his shoulder into the line, when the QB tries to avoid a sack, the defense can grab that part as a last ditch effort and it'll be easier to bring them down. I'm not saying it'll be the difference between losing and winning or if it'll even be noticeable, but why give the other team even the slightest advantage? The material they've been using for the wings the last few years has been just fine.

Two things. The wings are definitely more noticeable in the sunlight, and that face mask is definitely two different colors.

That would be the best helmet ever for the Cowboys.

Agreed. With some seriously shiny silver pants to match. That would look awesome. I hope NIKE does spice up the NFL a little.

Nike released the prototype Cowboys uniform today:

Of course, I'm assuming Ted Roof isn't Wisconsin's defensive coordinator these days :P

The helmets definitely look much better in natural lighting...
