Other Americans Abroad on the move today: Onyewu on loan to Spanish side Malaga, Bocanegra to Spanish 2nd division club Racing Santander, Edu finalized his Stoke City move.

6 million pounds for Dempsey is a steal. I dont get why he was so cheap but good for Spurs. I'll be tuning into more Tottenham matches from now on.

I'm surprised Rangers isn't outright selling Onyewu, Bocanegra and Edu.

Yeah, I'm surprised at the rather paltry amount for Dempsey, too. Maybe the "Americans can't play in Europe" stigma is still going strong, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Onyewu is on loan from Sporting Lisbon. I think Boca and Edus deals are sales.

I think it's more to do with Dempsey being in the final year of his contract and obviously not going to re-sign. Fulham had the choice of £6 million now or not much at all later.

GOOOOOOOOOAL!!!

FIIIIIIIINALLY!!!

Cazorla feeds Podolski for the Gunners' first strike of the campaign. 1-0 to the Arsenal at Anfield!

Update: And then Cazorla gets one of his own, off his former Villareal teammate Pepe Reina who got hands on the shot but nothing more.

Blasted United. Southhampton has been unlucky in all three of their games.

M'eh. Performance wasn't bad against Wigan, but you can't really afford to lose 2-0 at home to a team like Wigan, especially in the midst of a run of fixtures against Man City, Man United and Arsenal. Saints need to start picking up points and losing a 2-1 lead with 10 minutes to go isn't going to cut it at the top level. I am sure we can improve (apologies to those who think that we is inappropriate), but we need to in order to stay in the league.

So the player with most goals for Liverpool in our starting eleven tonight is...

Jamie Carragher, with 4

Already ahead though, thanks to one of the dopier own goals I've ever seen.

EDIT-

And just as I post that Young Boys get given an equally dopy goal back, cheers karma.

Man Utd on top of their group following their 2-1 defeat of Cluj. Galatasaray is at the bottom of Group H after losing to Braga.

Also, I'm elated at Celtic's victory in Moscow.

Nordsjælland (DAN) 0 - 4 Chelsea (ENG)

Valencia (ESP) 2 - 0 Lille (FRA)

Sparak Mockba (RUS) 2 - 3 Celtic (SCO)

Benefica (POR) 0 - 2 Barcelona (ESP)

Cluj (ROU) 1 - 2 Manchester United (ENG)

Galatasaray 0 - 2 Braga (POR)
