illwauk
I don't disagree with that. What are the Bucks up to?Trying to get a new arena in downtown Milwaukee. It doesn't seem to be too popular of an idea locally though. I (and many other residents of SE WIsconsin) am hoping the Senator sells the team now that he's retired and doesn't have to worry about it costing him a re-election if he sells to someone who wants to move the team. illwauk
Definitely. I just can not see this current Bucks team as the one I followed as a boy, and I really can't blame elite players for not wanting to play in a city where the temperature is below freezing for most of the time they have to be up here. That wouldn't be a problem if Milwaukee had an NHL team, but there's no way that happens unless the Bucks are gone.Adios, Bango.
Crash
I'm not anti-bucks, but man, it'd be great to see an NHL team in Milwaukee.
Soundergarden
I can't wait for the Sonics to come up back next year. Kind of feel bad for Kings fans, but then again, they stole the team from KC, so they are guilty too. Oh well, I don't care, I just want the Sonics to come back. They were in KC a very short time (and were hopping between KC and Omaha half that time). There was no effort to save them in KC. Sac on the other hand has offered over a quarter of a billion dollars in pubic funds and 3 potential local billionaire owners.

bosrs1
Sad thing is, if not for Hurricane Katrina neither Seattle nor Sacramento have or would be facing losing their team. The Hornets would just be in OKC and the Pelicans wouldn't exist.

Island_Style
Seattle would have been the only city saved. Seattle isn't snatching the Kings. The Maloofs have been shopping around. They are giving them the Kings. If it wasn't Seattle, it would have been someone else.
Lights Out
Minor rant here: there's really no comparison between the Kings' possible relocation and the original Sonics moving (besides both teams playing in a different city than before of course), so I'm not sure why people try to compare the two.Clay Bennett and his legion of cronies lied to the city of Seattle and refused to negotiate in good faith. They were going to force the Sonics to move to OKC come hell or high water. In contrast, both the Maloofs AND the prospective Seattle group have both made it very clear from the start that the franchise will be moving to Seattle if they're able to strike a deal and get league approval. No lies, no phony attempts to negotiate. The argument I've heard and read lately that "Seattle can shut up now, they're hypocrites for stealing a team" is idiotic for that very reason. It's false equivalence, plain and simple. One move was done under shady pretenses, the other won't be. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/
TheOldRoman
No phony attempts to negotiate? They completely negotiated a new stadium deal with Sacramento, only to back out of it. All Bennett did was dirty talk Seattle. The Maloofs did "just the tip" before leaving Sacramento. Their involvement makes it at least as shady as the Sonics' exit.
