NBA Changes 2013-14 Season

Yup, used to be teams that changed unis would wear the old ones in the preseason and bust out the new threads for the first game of the regular season (at least that's how it was in the 80s & 90s).

I think the Pacers did this in 05-06 too.

Well the Suns have officially unveiled their new logos and they look exactly how we expected (thanks to the leaks). Hopefully they do alter them at some point to include a little more purple. It's not that difficult and makes way more sense than the mostly black color scheme they're using. The colors and their usage should be orange, purple and then black. Oh well, what's done is done. I'll wait until seeing the finished jerseys before being too critical.

Looks like that confirms the purple away uni, tho hopefully that's not an exact graphic of the uni, because it looks like a plain black collar and no arm trim. :(

I really wish that they would reconsider and call you up for your designs. I love the no black/grey look.

What's the official unveiling date?

No official date, but according to Paul Coro (Suns official beat writer), they will be unveiled in "late September".

Just getting caught up on this thread, but I have a few notes.

1. As far as purple vs. black alt, my guess is the NBA might grant a 4th regular jersey as long as one is sleeved.

2. The Lakers grandfathering is ending. There were more color vs. color matchups last year than we've had in a long time. Someone will wear color at home as often as white before long, but because it's the NBA, the white will still be considered the "primary" home. Or they'll short it by 1 game to avoid some random fee.

3. You can't slap a "LOS" in front of a logo-only Suns jersey and call it Hispanic Heritage night. Hence, the forced "SUNS".

4. And finally, in the pic above.... new wordmark leaked? Someone mock that up. :)

NBA.com using the new Suns primary on the draft board.

Well, the Suns have formally released the logos, so they should.

Oops, I didn't see the official release, been away for a few days... My bad :notworthy:

No problem. Things have boomed as of late. Especially with the draft being tonight. Its gonna be bad when the draftees hold up the old jerseys in the press conference
