Jacksonville? Jaguars? Win?

I guess the positive is that the Titans lost so the Colts maintain the same division lead they had, but I dreamed of a world where we could see an 0-32 campaign by the Bucs and Jags. Ah well.

Man down, Bucs. I believe!

With the Ravens basically in field goal range in OT, Boomer butts in from the studio to say, "I think Marvin Lewis should have punted on that 4th-and-2." Way to put yourself out there, criticizing something just because it didn't work. Nobody says that when a team makes a 4th-and-2.

Also, a seemingly weekly Calvin Johnson rule rant. That catch that was reviewed in OT... the guy was bobbling the ball until a tiny fraction of a second before his foot came down out of bounds. Doesn't he have to make a "football move" to have it count as a catch? I don't get this rule. I don't think anybody does.

He's right, though. If he didn't trust his kicker to kick that FG, then he should've punted with the way his defense was playing. Putting yourself in a position where if you don't get it, your opponent only needs to go about 30-40 yards to have a good shot to win the game was a dumb one. I don't think seeing that should require hindsight.

Plus it was a terrible playcall.

On 4th and short, the odds are in your favor. I don't remember the exact field position, but a field goal there doesn't even necessarily win you the game. Punting when you're in field goal range doesn't gain you a ton of field position.

If I'm the Bucs, I just tank the test of this season. They aren't gonna win :censored: anyway. Might as well him for that top pick. I'll actually be pissed if they win a game here. Just lose em all, bash Greg Schiano over the head with a shovel, hire a new coach, and blow the first overall pick on some stupid lineman.

They were at the 32. Sure, the odds are in your favor on 4th and short (about 60%, if I remember a study I read correctly), but the odds are not in your favor of winning that game if you don't convert and your opponent needs only 30-40 yards to get into range for a game winning FG. Considering the Bengals offense wasn't exactly picking up yards at will all game, the crowd was really loud, and the defense was in a position to make a play to possible win the game, it seemed even less likely than that 60%. I guess it depends on how good your punter is and how much you can trust him to not boot one into the endzone, but I really didn't like the decision to go for it... especially with that particular playcall.
