I find it absolutely amazing just how bad the Texans have been this season. They were my Super Bowl pick at the start of the year, and as of now, they hold the top draft pick. I've never been so unbelievably far off on a sports prediction in my life.

Yeah, a post on the previous page about the draft order said Houston, Atlanta, and Tampa were the first eliminated from the playoffs. That's just shocking based off of last year, and how Tampa brought in Revis(at least they scooped up 3 wins in a year). I wouldve never expected those 3 to be out so early.

Random thought for today: how the hell did the Saints lose to the Jets??

About tonight, hope the weather stays this nice through the game.

Random thought #2: Webcams are cool. Go full-screen on that one and you can see the traffic in the streets.

To answer that random thought: The Saints stink on the road. I don't think I need to remind you, a long time (and once long suffering) Saints fan, that New Orleans has never won a road playoff game. Well, the atmosphere at CenturyLink tonight will be like a playoff game. Winning tonight can prove to a lot of people that New Orleans is a legit threat in the NFC.

Losing tonight means that they may have to experience the same atmosphere once again come mid-January for the NFC Championship Game.

If anything else... All I have to do is mention 'Beast Quake' and some weaker minded Saints fans will mess themselves. :P

Brandon Weeden is one of the worst NFL quarterbacks I've ever seen.

He sure is and at my age, I've seen quite a few more QBs than you have.

Couldn't have been Chris Weinke bad, could he?

That's a damned good question. Let's take a look.

  • Weinke:
  • Overall: 29 games - 20 starts
  • Team record in games he started: 2-18-0
  • Career Comp. %: 54.4
  • Career TD Passes/Int: 15/26
  • Weeden:
  • Overall: 23 games - 20 starts
  • Team record in games he started: 5-15-0
  • Career Comp. %: 55.9
  • Career TD Passes/Int: 23/26

Statistically, they're pretty close. I'm giving Weeden the nod as being worse simply because he has four games left this season. That's plenty of time to do some serious damage.

And one of Weinke's wins was a game against the Falcons where he attempted a grand total of seven passes, while DeAngelo Williams and DeShaun Foster were pretty much running the Wildcat all game long......

It amuses me every single time when people just magically think the Saints are going to win against a tough opponent in an outdoor venue.

The only way that team reaches the Super Bowl is by having HFA run through New Orleans. That won't happen after tonight. Oh, and now they get to face the best D in the NFL, statistically, in two of the next three weeks. Barring a comeback tonight, they'll be 9-3 and suddenly not even a sure thing to have a home game come playoff time.

I like it.

I think maybe the '85 Bears or '89 Niners would lose to the Hawks in Seattle this year.

I wouldn't go that far. They're destroying a team that, traditionally, performs very poorly in big games on the road. I wouldn't read too far into it.

For what it's worth, I think the opposite would be happening if the Saints were fortunate enough for tonight's game to be played in New Orleans.

Unbelievable. This has absolutely gone to hell. I had no expectations of winning this game, but wow. It looks like the only shot the Saints have at the SB is holding on to the 2 seed and being lucky enough to have a lower seed knock off the Seahawks in the playoffs.

And I'm really not one to complain about calls because I think it all balances out, but picking up a flag for holding because it had nothing to do with the outcome of the play? That sounds like a description of plenty of holding calls.
