New Browns uni coming 2015

This update has the feeling of 1984 all over again. Replace a fairly well liked vintage styled uniform with a relatively generic striped football uniform. Other than the CLEVELAND aspect there's nothing egregiously wrong about the new jersey design but there is not a single aspect of the new uniform that is an improvement over their traditional look.

This literally change for the sake of change.

Maybe so from our perspective, but it's always kind of different within the organization. We can fawn all we want over the beauty of their "classic, traditional" look; however, to those within the organization, they see a uniform that represents to people that team who hasn't one a championship since before the Super Bowl was a thing, that team had to move and was replaced with a new one that fans had to accept was "the same team," that team who has busted out with every single quarterback that they've taken a chance on in the new era, that team that looking at them springs one word to mind: "mediocrity." The changes here seem to be meant to finally move the team's general perception into a new era without sacrificing the integrity of their original brand (hence why the browns appear unchanged). Like I said, it may seem silly and unnecessary to us, but things really are just way different here than they are in there.

I just wish they would unveil them already so I can get myself used to the New Browns Order already, dang it.

So basically 1984 all over again like I said.

You get a completely new uniform but the overall visual identity remains so similar that an change (dare I say rebrand) looks utterly pointless. If you want a new direction I'd suggest an actual redesign with the existing colors. This is just a lot of inconsequential tweaks that amount to nothing really new.

...Unless if what we've seen is the new primary.

Exactly. I not completely sure why it is I think this, but I have a very strong suspicion that the orange jersey will be the primary, to be worn with a rotating choice of three pants options. If the leak is real, it's the only way to justify some of what's been said by the owner (more drastic uniform changes) or the player (Oregon of the NFL). Plus it has the added bonus of a quick fix/reversion to brown primary next year if the fans hate it.

Just thinking, what if there is no brown jersey at all and the new set is an orange jersey and two white ones (one with orange numbers, one with brown) or worse yet, a grey one?

Orange with white numbers, white with orange numbers, and gray with brown numbers?

Wouldn't put it past them.

Oh man, this place would Buffaslug all over itself if they had a Gray jersey instead of a Brown one. I'm actually rooting for it, just for the reaction.

It's fun to "Nelson" someone every now and then. Ha-Ha!

The lift shadow is to the left of the numbers because of the bright light shining ahead in Cleveland's future. It is displayed at a 46 degree angle to honor the team's 1946 inaugural season.

I think it's safe to say I'm just trying to stir up trouble...

Nike is plagirizing this as we speak.

The funny thing is that it is the lift shadow that could actually be construed as a tribute to the 1046 team/founding. The 1946 brown jerseys had a lift shadow instead of the drop shadow of the more commonly worn white. I'll see if I can find an image.

I've now switched my allegiance to Camp Gray after seeing this mockup. it would be so browns of them to do such a thing.

I'm fully convinced the reason we haven't seen a brown jersey yet is because it doesn't exist. We're gonna get grey, I just know it.

I'm pretty sure it was a drop... at least in every picture I've seen.
